(This is aimed at the boys side) Why does it take the soccer powers that be so long to get it together and get it out to parents? From national to local, communication is ridiculous. Every other sport on the planet (as well as college soccer programs/camps across the country) can handle it, so what's the deal with club soccer? I need tryout dates, ID session dates and inclusion criteria, ECNL updates, DA restrictions and news, etc. Are the girls treated this way? I'd really like to know, as soccer is a pinnacle sport for girls and a "we don't want any real athletes," 5th teir sport for boys. Oh yeah that's right, get ready for a "blunt truth about why men's soccer is a joke and can't compete" post. I have the answers, as a 20 year soccer coach, and you're not going to like them.

The bigger the club the worse it gets also. Coaches get more and more distant from leadership and often know less then the average jo. Many have been around so long that they just want to coach the game and not worry about all the BS etc. I know many coaches that don't even want top teams anymore because they have been there and done that. they want 2nd/3rd teams, with limited travel etc. And to be honest, the guys are enjoying their jobs and pushing kids upwards.
I've said for years, clubs need to hire true parent liasans and over communicate. I know we all hate the constant barrage of emails etc, but in this case more is better.

My kids are at a big club and communication is not an issue at all. DOCs are all always available to answer any question too
