Any fellow forum members going to the AUFC game tomorrow? Any of you belong to any of the supporters groups?

Definitely going. Looking forward to it.
Not a group member. On field play will determine whether this becomes "my team". They sure seem to be doing things right, and the league is slowly shedding the "retirement league" skin. So that's a plus.

I'll be there... should be an amazing atmosphere -- sold out! Not a member of any supporter groups... probably won't.

Rifle- with Tata at the helm they will play a possession style much like he did at Barcelona. He said he wanted an attractive style and score lots of goals. If you watched any of the preseason games it certainly looks promising.

I'm there!!
Sharing season tickets and drew the smaller straw and didn't get opener.
Scored some tics today. Should be pretty crazy and playing in Bobby Dodd will be pretty dang cool.

That was a really good first game. Look forward to seeing them adjust and hopefully get some wins. Very solid team. Rookie CM I thought did surprisingly well, and the offensive weapons are plentiful. Should be fun to watch! Shame we ran out of gas.
Cool story: My family won the ChickFilA seat upgrade! Thanks to a quick Twitter hashtag...

I was impressed with the team as well. I thought it was a solid performance. They showed great cohesiveness given that they haven't played together for very long. The backline seemed very tight and the South America players are quite skillful. They were aggressive and physical without mindless fouling and they possessed the ball very well. However, I can't remember which player it was but whoever tried to chip the keeper should have just taken another touch and buried the ball in the corner. I thought moments like that show some inexperience that hopefully will go away with time. And when Kenwayne Jones came on the field, I thought he was going to strangle the goalkeeper for trying to play the ball out of the back instead of booting it up to him to he could flick it on. I also thought a lot of their momentum went away when the Red Bulls equalized and they couldn't recover from that.

I highly encourage everyone to go to a game. We sat up in section 215, and the view was great. yes, we missed some of the energy you get from sitting close and seeing the players, but for $35 a ticket, the seats were great. You could see the entire pitch and actually watch the game from end to end, sideline to sideline with no obsrtructions.
I'm not going to complain about Bobby Dodd, because it clearly can't handle that volume of people, but what I loved was this:
there was very little hoopla and distractions, it was a soccer game. No cheerleaders, no obnoxious announcer, no music playing during possessions --- just soccer!

Wow. That was amazing. What a privilege to be able to be there on opening night.
The two biggest complaints I heard were delays in entry (I assume because of metal detectors used on everyone entering) and concession lines (old stadium, but most importantly the addition of beer sales).
I trust they will increase screening staff at the gates and find a way to set up more beer-only kiosks to alleviate the pressure on the concession stands. I sent an email suggesting that beer ONLY be sold away from the normal concessions, because it can be sold from anywhere, whereas the hot food has to be at the normal windows.
Neither of those things really impacted my experience, which was overwhelmingly positive.
My favorite thing was the obvious understanding of the game by the great majority of the fans, when they cheered loudly for the simple not-even-a-goal-scoring-opportunity great plays at midfield.

And for the record I really do want to remove my level of being anonymous -- to be honest though, my concern was/is having my name, address, and personal information being posted on that other site on a daily basis with negative information. I know it would be done and their admins wouldn't do anything about it.

Loved the atmosphere, we tailgated before and I'm game to meeting some new folks, we are all adults correct?. Yes this forum is "anonymous" but a lot of people already know who some are. Cant wait until the 18th!! hopefully we can win

The Bobby Dodd club seat sight lines actually sucked for soccer. From row 15, I couldn't see the near sideline at all, and had to watch on the screen.
I hope the new stadium seat bowl was designed with a wide field in mind.

It sounds like everything from seats to concessions to bathrooms to sight lines to screens is going to be substantially better at the new stadium. I can't wait.

It was an incredible atmosphere and a really entertaining match. I was in the midst of the supporters section about 6 rows up. I don't think the supporters groups necessarily expected the volume of people who were participating in the chants, so it was all a bit disjointed, but I'm sure everyone learned a lot and will be better prepared for the next game.
I thought the team showed a ton of promise, but also a ton of inexperience. It was clear why the Red Bulls are perennial contenders in MLS. They spent nearly 70 minutes on the back foot, but as soon as they sensed United was fading they switched it into high gear. As soon as they had the lead, they killed the game with silly fouls and exaggerated injuries. It was a very professional performance from a good team on short rest.
Atlanta showed they have no fear, though, and they are clearly very confident in their own identity. They have already adapted to Tata's tactics pretty well for only having played 5 games. The high press, high energy style will make them a joy to watch for neutrals, and combining that with the massive crowds will make Atlanta United one of the most recognizable teams in the league very quickly.
Next game against Minnesota will be a tough test. It's the first true road game this team has ever faced, and it will be in front of 40k+ in sub-freezing temperatures. Minnesota looks like the more "expansion-y" of the expansion teams but they should be helped by their crowd. I can't wait to see how the guys respond, especially the South Americans.

Yes....we had issues with our seats, whomever numbered them actually skipped 2 seats in the first 10 rows. We complained that night and they said they would come and talk to everyone but no one ever did. Last night we received an email saying that it will be fixed by the next game, not sure how they plan on doing it unless they move us to a completely different section. Heard about the concessions issues but since we tailgated before and didn't even go near it. My daughter went to the bathroom and said they were huge and empty so we had no trouble there either.

I've never known anyone to get a seat upgrade before! I didn't bother posting; I guess that's why I don't win.

I bought fairly late. Winning the AU/Chick Fil-A seat upgrade promo moved us from upper deck 103 to CL1 (yellow club seats).
Due to the flat bowl, I think best seats for soccer (if you don't want to be in the rowdy end section) are probably in the upper deck, section 225. High enough to see everything. But not as high as the team bench side.
