I'm assuming the answer to this question is because its not a US Soccer sanctioned event etc nor technically DA teams? , but, and big but you have to assume the rosters of the these u12 teams are being mostly formed from current u12 DA rosters right? www.mlssoccer.com/generation-adidas-cup/2017/u12/schedule-standingsIf so why are they allowed to play 4 games in 2 days? (just to be clear, I have no problems with 4 games in 2 days, as most kids that make a final in a local tournament are accustomed to this. US soccer however, prohibits this...)

I heard that this is for the 05's not in DA. I know of two Concorde 05's selected to go.

They did it last year and Concorde told AtlUtd no. So no Concorde players went. Glad they changed their tune a bit. But also they directly contacted the parents this time and then sent a note to the club that they reached out to those players.

I'm not sure to be honest, I assumed AtlUnited's top 05s were going. I also know of a current u12 DA player invited from a local DA club.

That is surprising. As long as the club gives permission they are allowed to go play. You are allowed to play two games in the day but have to be shortened. I'm surprised they didnt ask the Concorde's 05 keeper. He is clearly the best 05 keeper around.

When you say the best 05 Keeper around, are you referring to the current U12 DA 05 Keeper or the regular Academy 05 Keeper? I ask because I don't believe he's clearly the best 05 keeper. There are a few at UFA and GSA that would give either a run for their money. I will agree and say from my observation, the U12 DA 05 keeper is much better than the u12 DA 04 keeper.

Looking at the schedule link you provided(thanks), it looks like the boys going for AU have their work cut out for them. For the first day they play two games that start within 3 hours

Each club must have enough boys to play essentially two teams. NYCFC has two games on the same day with one at 10:40 and the next starting at 11:40. Philadelphia, Seattle, Chicago and Portland have a noon and then a 2. Houston, Orlando City and Dallas have 10:40 and 12:40

I believe they also turn around and play games on Saturday if they finish in the top of the group, so more games.

What other clubs had boys invited to participate in the u12 tournament, other than Atlanta United and Concorde?

Futsal Gawdess- I mean the current Concorde U12 DA keeper the 05 one. I have seen both UFA DA and non and they dont even come close. Havent seen the GSA keeper and GSA does produce some good keepers. Have to keep an eye out for him. Not sure what you are observing in regards to the 05 keeper vs the 04 keeper. The 04 keeper is clearly a better keeper and not just a shot stopper. Communication to back line, transitional attacker, sweeper, better foot with ball (left and right), better kicker, etc..

Cunication to back line, transitional attacker, sweeper, better foot with ball (left and right), better kicker, etc.. I think Futsawl Goddess is right on this one. I've seen the GSA keeper, and he is probably the best 05 keeper because of his ability to read the game. I don't have a dog in this fight, but he is definitely one to watch. Additionally, the UFA academy keepers (and they have a few) are at the same level as the 05 Concorde keeper. I usually watch the UFA keepers, but I have seen the Concorde keeper a few times. On another note, I am curious if you think the Concorde 04 DA keeper is better than the 04 AU keepers...

We're all entitled to our opinion, but I still don't agree that the current U12 Concorde DA 05 keeper is clearly the best around. First we have to recognize that these are 11/12 year old boys who on any given Saturday can fail in an epic way or shine gloriously. Secondly, my observations are just that my observations. You may have spent more time watching the Concorde keepers(might be your home club) but from the games I've watched of CF I think the 05 DA keeper is better. When you think about it, he's the only 2005 player on the vaunted CF U12 team. That says a lot right there.

This year assume its kids from AU, Concorde, UFA and can anyone else fill in the gaps? Obviously there are more than 6-8 boys going to Dallas. I can confirm 4 from AU, 1 from CF and 1 from UFA. I've also heard 2 potentially from LSA but I can't confirm that. I've been told that the full list will likely be out this coming Monday. Word is all the boys chosen will finally be brought together at the AU training facility. As I hear more, I will happily share.

Not impressed with one of them. I havent seen the GSA so maybe saying "clearly" was an over statement. All good. Yes you are entitled to your opinion but what makes him a better keeper than the 04? Very curious.

Soccerhouse, i'm sorry if my post came across wrong. I wasn't alluding to you not realizing that more than 6-8 boys were going to Dallas. I was trying to respond to your request for someone to fill in the gaps. That was more of me saying that I couldn't fill in all the gaps but for starters here are the 6-8 i'm aware of that are going. Again my apologies if you thought my wrongly worded post was directed at you :-)

Per one of the current 05 AU Players parent, here is the breakdown of the players going to Dallas for Atlanta United AU - 5 UFA - 2 CF - 2 DSC - 1 Santos - 1 RYSA - 1 I hear training today may have been shortened due to the weather. Will report more as I get more.
