Anyone have any Honest Perceptions/Experiences to date of u12 DA? Was the old academy way better? Was the it better also for the top teams that chose to play up and play 11v11 vs small sided soccer? Have you played enough games? Is it frustrating not playing any meaningful games?
Has it lived up to the hype?

This is a money grab. Smaller clubs who lose players anyway will potentially lose them even earlier. I am not a DA fan not because of the coaching philosophy but rather the fact the kids get limited games. They can't play ODP, high school, guest play, etc. 10 games a year at the older ages is simply not enough. The substitution rules also impact the minutes of the players who don't start. Be mindful of what you are signing up for.

I wasnt a fan at first but I do like it better than what it was.
Here are a few things.
1: Games have been surprisingly close, sometimes. Just like it was before when we played the past few years. Next year bigger challenge (11v11). 2: The amount of games was for me at first a down size but as the boys get older a higher chance for more injuries. So if you play a lot more then higher the chance. I would like them to have more DA tournaments (showcases). Disney is on the list. I hope AtlUtd does one for DA. That would be cool. 3: Lots of eye balls, scouts. Helps get on radar early even though may change as they get older.
Futsal needs to be longer than just a month. If they added is as a 6-8 week league that would be much better. Clubs need to be more open about DA players doing private training with other DA club coaches. (i get the reason why.... but that other coach may have molded that player for years)

I have to agree with allthingsoccer. Especially when it comes to ODP, it's an additional training session. I still don't see why the boys can't participate as long as it doesn't conflict with their DA schedule. Also, I don't like the varying pricing and 4th day practice model. For some, travel is included for others it's a separate cost that is collected like tournament fees. Some clubs do Yoga on the 4th day of training, others are taught to watch film on their play and that of their opponents.

Yeah i dont like that as well. Need to be able to free play. I heard that a couple of CF teams next year will do 3 nights but 2 hrs long to cut the travel stress down and give some extra time for school projects etc...
