I would like to get an opinion and some feedback of how DA coaches have been playing. How is 9V9 for DA helping for 11V11 for next season? I am pretty sure, last season most of those 2004 players played 11 V 11. How has the coach's 9V9 formations looked? Has every team been the same? Anyone know the strategy to prepare them next season? It looks like certain players that are physically able have been playing with the older age groups already. Just curious on the coaches tactics. Thank you in advance for your valuable feedback.

Yeah we played 11v11 before this year and now 9v9. I think the 9v9 benefits the smaller skilled players for sure. I really havent seen the benefit from 9v9 yet. They only one I can tell is the sub rules. More kids get play time. I dont think its really changed the way we do practice.
Most try and do a 4-4-2 as a base. Depends on the type of players you have. 4-3-3 is pretty popular as well. If you have fast attacking players then 3-4-3

It was changed to the new format because US Youth players are not doing well with the fast controlled play in small spaces. We are DONE playing BOOM BALL to big strong fast kids over the top. It's all about building from the back and possession soccer. It's causing waves of growing pains from the top down on the mens and the women side of the game.

I've noticed very little difference from 8v8 to 9v9 except, big except -- when playing on small fields its not much fun. Game gets compact and crowded in the middle of the field.
One thing I like better is that at 8v8, teams explored 2 in the back, which I never liked. I like 3 in the back and 9v9 is the perfect number to play a 3-4-1
