Anyone willing to share opinions on any of the U14 GDA coaches? From what I understand they will be: Iggy at UFA, Garvin at CF, and Jerome at NTH.

Isn't an A license a requirement to coach GDA?

Isn't an A license a requirement to coach GDA? Pretty sure it is. Jerome is an excellent coach. He does say what he thinks, but it's always in an attempt to make the kid better.

Isn't an A license a requirement to coach GDA? Yes, I think an A license is a requirement. Jerome is listed on NTH website as the 04 GDA coach. Othere two I listed, Iggy and Garvin, and just based on what I've heard. Do one of them lack credentials?

Garvin I heard has a D license but don't quote me on that.

To coach DA, you have to have an A license or be on a development pathway toward one. Since there's no defined timeline for that development pathway, it essentially means you don't actually have to have any license. The DA director does have to have an A license. I imagine Concorde will put one of the coaches on the boys side who has an A license down as the director. I don't think Iggy is coaching U14 DA. Unless my information is wrong, he's coaching the U16 DA. They have a Brazilian woman that was coaching the U14s last I heard. All accounts say she is excellent. She does have a high level UEFA license. So more than qualified from that perspective. Garvin's alright. Doesn't have the licenses, but has played a role in developing some very good players. Mostly as a private trainer. His team and game coaching is average from what I've seen. But your kid will be in shape like never before. I've heard mixed reviews about Jerome. Some people love him. Some people hate him. I'm surprised he's coaching DA considering the extent of his, let's call it mixed, reception has been on the various teams he's had recently. Iggy is coaching the 04's Ana (who is not Brazilian but Spaniard) is coaching the 03's Iggy is also coaching the 01/02 Mo is coaching the 99/00 I agree with what you said about Garvin. He's a good trainer but as a coach I haven't heard good things. Jerome -- I have heard the same, you either love him or hate him.

I'm amazed Garvin still gets grief. He took u14 team last year and got them to final 4 in ECNL (ended up 3rd in nation in ECNL). 02s this year lost out by a point to TH (split them 1 and 1) and are 7th overall in nation points-wise. He was given 03s with little expectation and they came in 3rd. He personally trains or coaches several national pool players and trained daily for years the youngest boy to ever play in MLS (beside Freddie A.). EVERY kid on his teams develops/improves and he is 100% about the kids. Looking at the objective v. subjective, he's pretty solid choice.
