Does anyone have any insight as to the status of the girls ODP tryouts tomorrow night? I don't believe Lovejoy has turf?

I think there is a weather line on each age group underneath the practice information.

Are most of the coaches for girls ODP from TopHat. Excuse me, ... NASA Tophat
Just curious... that's just the rumor I had heard.

Well NTH is the top girls program in the state But for the record I coach Boys ODP to avoid the very perception that you incorrectly allege

Not enough Hatters on the coaching side, so that's why the girls odp side has struggled. Haha 😉

Yes, UFA top girls teams are better than 2nd teams from NTH, Concorde, GSA, and AFU. That's who they played in State Cup.

In fact I would argue that they draw more players to the club because of their reputation for player development than through active recruiting. They may not have the very top team in every academy age group every year, but overall their girls academy program is the strongest in the state, and the majority of their Academy players are developed at the club. Sure at U13 and above a lot of good players migrate to Tophat, but the majority of the players on the top couple teams are still TH lifers or close to it (maybe not in all age groups but in most). My kids don't play for Tophat, so no personal bias. Just what I've observed over the last 10+ years.

Yeah Atlanta has some great girls teams but Tophat was the best of the best when it comes to reputation and history. Shame to see all that changing though with the NASA merger. I have a Hatter alum on my staff and she even sees the difference after just a handful of games from tournament and last weekend. Just seems to be two different philosophies fighting each other. Kind of like Cobb FC post SSA merger, and norcross post Ufa merger. Just sad as one of those few that grew up playing in Atlanta during the 80s and 90s to see all these local clubs being folded into a massive corporation.

Some sensitive souls on here I take it... How dare anyone not think Tophat is the end all, be all... LOL I was just playing ... responding back with recognition that a program (meaning OVERALL program) that sweeps a tourney like the State cup is a top quality one in it's own right. We all know Tophat is top quality as well with its history and reputation... just know that reputation from "outsiders perceptions" also has attributes perceived as arrogance and entitlement.
