Both are happening this weekend in Lakewood Ranch, FL. Any observations so far?

I am focused on the 16/17 boys and for the local teams, it has not been a good showing so far. Yesterday both UFA and CF lost and AU managed a tie. Today UFA won a tough one 3-2 and CF managed a tie. AU is currently playing, heading over there to see if I can catch the last part of the game. All three teams get tomorrow Sunday off and resume on Monday for one more game and then back home. Poor UFA has to turn around and return down to Florida next weekend for a game. For the Nike friendly against the Dutch at the U17 age group, the US got absolutely dominated. Thankfully it was only 5-1, could definitely have been worse. For the U18/19 boys I didn't watch but someone told me the two local teams didn't fare as well either. Thursdays games both CF and AU lost and on Friday AU tied and CF won.

At DA showcase it has been cool seeing local parents supporting or at least checking out other ATL teams across both age groups. The West Coast teams definitely don't seem to have as many supporters in attendance.
I was glad to see online today that AU U18/19 won today. It would have been strange not to have any wins despite having "professional"/homegrown players.
Yesterday AU U16/17 crushed Toronto FC 6-1. I don't understand why that Toronto team isn't listed in the DA rankings (they show as having 0 games even though the other Canadian MLS DA teams have full profiles online).
That's great that UFA pulled off the win yesterday against the #1 team in the Northeast Division. Maybe it shows that our division is strong? (The Southeast division has 3 teams in the top 10--Chargers, AU and CF at the 16/17 level.) UFA should have beaten Santa Cruz Breakers in the first game though but got unlucky with that deflected free kick so I guess that evens out. The CF 16/17 (10th ranked) game against 9th ranked Pateadores yesterday was a nail biter. There were about 40 college coaches in attendance (including many Ivy League) even though they played at the field farthest from civilization. This place is huge!
USA U17 MNT vs Netherlands was atrocious. I couldn't tell if we were awful or they were amazing or both. Probably both. Looking forward to seeing the friendly against Brazil tonight.
I caught a couple ODP inter-regional games yesterday/today. Southeast (Region III) '01's won two out of their three games. Only 1 kid on the team was from GA. They played a fast-paced game with good possession today and decent passing (not a lot of boom) but more offside violations than I'm used to seeing with DA.
Anyone else here this weekend besides me and Futsal Gawdess???

Hey Footy, I don't believe Toronto FC is in the official DA program. They chose to do that to free them up from the encumbrances and rules of DA. This way they can play both DA and non-DA clubs/teams.

Interesting. That would make sense. Then AU got lucky to be matched with them this weekend since Toronto does not seem very strong . The Dutch U17 national team boys are on my flight. By tying Brazil last night, the US denied the Dutch winning the entire friendly competition. Payback for crushing us I guess!
