Thanks for posting. This (the lack of wanting to find the best talent) is terrible. The US National team needs the best US player regardless of their racial profile... This underscores what so many believe that the USSF is not a competent group. I dont care what the player looks like. If the US wins the whole nation celebrates. Do we think this is happening on the girls side as well? ...

Interesting! So that Thomas Rongen cat, is the same clown that on twitter was slamming messi a few months ago --- at the time, he was the "chief US Scout" -- he claimed Messi lacked soccer IQ etc... he got killed on twitter and it seemed like within the next week, lost his job with US soccer, he was connected with Bruce Arena.

Also looks like SoccerAmerica has gone to a premium subscription service. That stinks!

Good article, Rifle I have so many thoughts. Not sure I agree with everything Rothenberg said, based on my personal experience, including my kid playing in the same division as Alianza teams and also helping subsidize some Mexican players to be a part of our club. And for some club teams, the overwhelming majority of their players are hispanic. Seems like clubs with training centers in major cities are not turning away Mexican players... and there are training centers located in areas with very high hispanic populations. Not sure why Rothenberg feels we need to build training centers elsewhere (in other words, for Georgia/Metro Atlanta, tell me a highly concentrated Mexican population, and I can name a club that would be happy to take any good player).

Atlanta seems to have done a pretty good job. I've still come across some gems that only play in the Hispanic leagues and have waited until they are older to play for other clubs etc. I've encourage parents with young players to get kids playing in the Hispanic leagues. Its fun, cheap, and the kids just play games. Its more classic free play. Kids play up, play down, it really is about playing more than anything else.
