That is sad, I feel for the players, coaches and staff, especially with it being so close to the start of the season. I wonder what it will take to make women's soccer stable and profitable.

That is sad, I feel for the players, coaches and staff, especially with it being so close to the start of the season. I wonder what it will take to make women's soccer stable and profitable. It’ll take US soccer splitting everything 50/50 between men’s and women’s program no matter how much each brings to the program. ie MLS and NWSL should get the same amount of money and resources from US Soccer. Some type of Title IX law to force the old boys club to give women an equal footing. Sometimes you have to have programs in place that are going to lose money for a short term to help the long term goals. Sucks that old Blankie Blank couldn’t have dropped some spare change to buy and move the Breakers to Atlanta. Anyone wanna argue that a women’s program in Atlanta playing out of 5/3 Bank, CoolRay Field, GSU Stadium or even that eyesore the Merc wouldn’t be a good thing?

The fact that MLS owners share profits from USWNT events needs to change. But that's not likely to change given the way the federation is built to support MLS far more than any other consideration.
A women's pro team in Atlanta with support from AU would be a great thing.

This is the same ownership group that was planning on creating a lower-division men's team in Stonecrest starting in 2018. Not only is the Stonecrest facility not close to being finished, the ownership group involved appears to be completely unstable.
