How are high schools handling signing day for their students who now play DA, and are restricted ftom playing HS?
Hearing some are using it as an opporrunity to promote the student, regardless if they are now playing for the school, while others taking an approach of not allowing the student to sign at the school since they aren’t on the team currently (even though they were in previous years).

Usually the rule of thumb is to sign at the school, you need to be playing at the school. Some clubs will hold a signing night for the player who are not playing high school but who have committed to play at the next level.

I agree with Spectator, why should you be allowed to throw a signing party at your school when you're not playing there? I say organize with your club for all the college bound players to gather together as one and make a day of it. Free publicity for the colleges and the clubs.

I think it depends on the school? I know of one school in who brags about a player and her recent commitment and she never played for them nor had any interest to. Maybe they think some athletes from out of district will transfer there?
At the end of the day, these kids are going off to college and I'm sure it looks good for the school. If schools don't want to do NIL for them, Im sure the clubs will facilitate, heck the local clubs could all do it in one place one day and then the college coaches only have to go to 1 place.

College coaches dont go to individual signings. That would be physically impossible given distance and number of recruits.

Then even more reason for the clubs to be able to do a signing if the schools dont want to do it. I am not familiar with the process, my kids are still young.
UFA is holding the seniors college signing tomorrow night, i guess that answers that question.

UFA is holding the seniors college signing tomorrow night, i guess that answers that question. Most of the UFA girls I know are signing at their schools. Cobb, Cherokee and Fulton are all signing in the morning. Forsyth is in the afternoon. The final signing date for soccer is August 1 so I guess it really doesn't matter what day or time - tomorrow is the first date they can sign - earliest time is 7am. I am 99.99% sure my kid will set her alarm and sign her copy at 7 sharp! I know my daughter's college coach wants the document scanned or faxed back to him by mid afternoon so the signing at the club at night may be more ceremonial - which is great and gives them the opportunity to celebrate with their club teammates. Our club is sending a representative to each signing and the photos will be on the website later. Regardless of where and what time they sign, congratulations to all players signing tomorrow.

Scanned? Holdup I was under the impression the NCAA was still stuck in 1989 and EVERYTHING had to be faxed. Has that finally changed? Congrats as well! Being offered a spot is an incredible achievement for all families.

I saw a post from a dad saying that his daughter and teammates that play DA were not allowed to do NLI at their school. This school lost their whole girls team to DA or graduation and they had to start from scratch.

Very cool. My boy at AU (very young) was impressed with the kid going to Brown. As he said “if I’m not good enough to be a pro - that’s hard and you have to be really good - maybe I’m good enough to go to a school like that and play. My grades are perfect and I’m pretty good at soccer”. I appreciate that AU markets college placements. They won’t make any money off most of these kids, but will help them long term. It truly has been a lifelong mission for Will in going to Brown. He took online classes to make sure they didn't interfere with his playing time. He even took the initiative in moving to an apartment close to the AU Training Grounds on his own so he didn't waste time travelling back and forth. Such maturity for the young man. I see him succeeding. Wish him all the best.

I stole this, but US Soccer/DA prohibits scholastic soccer in order to develop players for scholastic soccer.

Thanks for that list! Looks like Concorde girls didn't get their list in on time, and NTH Tophat mixed in some boys (maybe ECNL or other players since they don't have a boys DA team at that age).
