Unfortunately the US won't get the WC bid, watch and see. True that. Not a chance in the current FIFA world.

Looks like Sunil decided to shizat where he sleeps, and it's backfiring.
I am curious what's up with all the cities declining to host.

All this "infrastructure" money for what? We've seen with the last few World Cups and Olympics these countries build these new venues and most are now dormant or just falling apart.

Kinda like US Soccer considering yet another national training center facility.. when every University or city would host with open arms. So much waste.

Interesting story on 2026 world cup bid apnews.com/c6690222708748eea2f984a1c4acc9e2Morocco seems to be touting that it is a safe nation for fans with "very low gun circulation" I thought the playing conditions section was also interesting given the next world cup is in Qatar... PLAYING CONDITIONS The North American bid raises the prospect of “heat illness for athletes or visitors” if there are extreme temperatures and humidity. But the bid said it would work with FIFA to ensure stadiums are “adequately prepared and climate-controlled where possible.” Morocco is more strident in assuring that “environmental conditions do not pose any risk to the health of players and visitors” but it does say that water would be provided “in the event of a heat wave.” But of most interest, on the ballot will be the following --
On the ballot paper there will be another option: “None of the Bids — Reopen Bidding Process.”If the rejection option wins, a new process lasting months or even years would begin — excluding the United States, Canada, Mexico and Morocco. This would let European and Asian bidders enter a race they are currently barred from because Russia and Qatar host the two previous World Cups. China could then join the contest.

Why would the US be banned from applying again but only as the US?

FIFA inspectors headed to Atlanta Tuesday and Wednesday, as its task will be to evaluate and score the bids of United 2026 (USA, Canada and Mexico) and Morocco. A low score could disqualify a bid without the vote of the FIFA Congress on June 13. FIFA noted that the "main objective of the trips, which will comprise visits to specific locations as well as working meetings with the bid committees, will be to clarify certain technical aspects contained in the respective bid books. The visits to the member associations represent only one part of the overall assessment process implemented by the 2026 Bid Evaluation Task Force."

These FIFA inspectors are a reminder that they'll be expecting welcoming parties, gifts, and a$$ kissing - the corrupt old days are back.
