Do you mean the current u13 SSA DA team is leaving or the Classic I u13 team? Or do you mean the current u12 SSA DA is leaving for u13 DA?

Do you mean the current u13 SSA DA team is leaving or the Classic I u13 team? Or do you mean the current u12 SSA DA is leaving for u13 DA? Talking about a girls team here. Not the boys. SSA doesn't have DA or ECNL for girls. That team is arguably the best team in the state. They beat Concorde ECNL in Disney and Concorde is at the top of ECNL in the southeast. They have not beaten Tophat yet (Concorde hasn't) but otherwise they have dominated. To answer why...I think it is all reputation and competition. SSA U13 girls Elite is beating everyone they come in contact with and usually by a mile. Even close games score-wise (1-0 against UFA for example) were games SSA dominated possession and chances. If those girls go to Concorde (or Tophat or UFA) DA they will be on teams playing against better competition. They will have exposure to more college coaches and scouts for the national team. 3 girls from Atlanta were taken for the U14 GNT camp. One from Concorde and two from Tophat. All are playing age group up. That is an advantage SSA doesn't have. Can they say that those U13 girls who are "too good" for their own age group can then go play on an equally dominating team one age group up if they stay at SSA? Maybe, maybe not. This is all a vicious cycle. Even at a big club a dominating team may not be able to stay together because they don't have that advantage that other big clubs have. This is one reason UFA lost talent to other clubs prior to DA. The Della Peruta sisters, for example. Tophat had/has more depth of talent and better opportunities for exposure. It drew the best of the best to try to improve their situations and skills.

My daughter is on this team. All of this is bad info. No coaching change. No one has plans on leaving. Team is very united, and the parents all get along. With all due respect this sounds quite familiar. I hope your situation goes the way you hope. Trouble is, teams often stay "united" until one parent decides their child is being held back.. then the dominoes all start to fall. It happens.

Nothing else that I saw was "info." My post was in response to answer the possible "why." I have no true insider info, just experience in seeing this situation happen before. I agree with others, that I hope you are right about your daughter's team, but people keep their plans quiet often until the day of tryouts or even into tryouts a day or two. Coaches often so the same. There are many reasons why people choose to go to another club and the opportunity at DA and ECNL clubs is just one reason. Best wishes for your success.

Even if the rumor is true, the likelihood that it will be the whole team is slim. Most top tier teams only grab the top 4 players and players leave in small groups. There is no doubt that TH and CF could use and will take some of the SSA players but defintely not the whole team. Why CF and not TH ? TH is supposed to field the best girls soccer team and have the best program? Then you have the issue of logistics of practice times and locations which will be a factor in any decision.
SSA definitely has a strong team and they beat CF but have not played TH. One match is a small sample size to make that statement that they are the best team in the state. Even Real and BARCA get beat sometime. If they had ECNL and beat all of teams, then and only then would i crown them the best. I would like to see TH, CF and SSA duke it out once and for all. It will be a good set of games!!!
If you want to look further into the talent pool and figure out who has the stronger players lets look at thr list from the last national training center invite for the girls in the U13 pool : UFA 0 - they have 3 06 players TH 4 girls with one playing up and 1 06 but shes better than most on her team CF 9 girls with 3 playing up SSA 2 girls - with 1 potential playup. Not sure if they have more
Why didnt SSA have more?

Very common age for girls teams to really start to see players leave anyway and have turnover. Its part of the course traditionally as that age group was the last and final great age group of girls soccer in georgia before they aged up to ecnl as we have discussed before.

So was my daughters's team at U13, top of RPL, in NL and state champs....and everyone said no one was leaving...and u know what happened? some left anyway. Just because they tell you they're not leaving it doesn't make it through, people keep this information very hush hush because they worry that the coach will punish their kid during the season
