So question for anyone in the know or who has their best bet:
With Tophat being part of the “big 6” in regards to moving top teams out of Georgia soccer and RPL, did tophat form alliance so they can have ecnl and Da but still offer RPL through the tophat Sharks.
I’m still wondering the advantage to either club in the alliance or any of these clubs that form similar agreements?

The advantage is for the current LSA players: depth, level of teams, coaching, development and philosophy is at NTH. The RPL teams would surely be at Buckhead or MN as that's where most of the players are located.

So you are saying that 1) Tophat plans to keep RPL level teams despite being in this "Champions League" if such a thing truly will exist and it isn't just a rumor and 2) that they would take the location of it away from the current players who earned it and kept it since they finished RPL in the top 4 (even though Tophat Gold did not) for the 2005 girls and the 2003 LSA girls team qualified for RPL for Fall 2018 as well?

Though I agree that the LSA players get a lot out of the Tophat Alliance for all of those other reasons you stated.

Like Oraclesfriend said, I thought the entire point of the champions league was to break away from RPL? I’m still trying to figure out how LSA finished top 4, it was close to 10-0 when we played them in u12.

LSA already has a successful u13 rpl club that finished 3rd and will be in premier division of u14 RPL in the fall. That team, being current lsa players, trains in Gainesville. Do you expect tophat to have 2 separate rpl team or will tophat inherit this team and move it to buckhead and blend players?

I talked to their coach after they beat us in RPL, bravo to them for doing what all other clubs do

I talked to their coach after they beat us in RPL, bravo to them for doing what all other clubs do That information about the two ODP players is incorrect. Both of those girls who made ODP were on that team as U12. One of them has been there since U9. The other joined from Athens as they started U12. The coaching change happened mid-season U12. He definitely improved that team a lot. As for beating them 10-0 as a U12 team some teams translate better to 11v11. The LSA team has A LOT of speed. Always has. When you give them more room to run they can beat you. Most of the credit goes to coaching and ODP likely made those two girls even better. People trash ODP now, but I think it still serves a purpose for people like those two girls who play at a smaller club and need more challenge than their team practices can give them.

Certainly interesting to see the difference a year can make. Some players can pick up the 11v11 game a lot quicker then others can, like you said...there’s a lot more space to exploit in the 11 a side game. I think there’s certainly value in ODP, especially at the younger age groups prior to DA at u14. The level of coaches are usually very good and I think it’s good for players to be taken out of their comfort zone- especially those used to the smaller club environment.

I would like to know the answer to this as well. These teams earned their spots, and now they would need to relocate to Buckhead or Metro North? If so, when will the current players be notified?

I wouldn’t think they’d be made to relocate these teams. There’s not a lot of parents that will be willing to make the hour trip (without traffic!!) three times a week.....unless a player was to make Tophats DA team. As Oraclesfriend said, it wouldn’t be fair to take away the location from the players that earned that place.
Even LSA players making the trip to play ECNL wouldn’t make much sense, especially for the U13s who beat that team.
