Yes, so all together its 6k I cant speak for the 16/17's but I can speak for the 15's and they travel with the 16/17's. that will give you an idea. TRAVEL ONLY is 2198 for division play and 1350 for the summer showcase. That includes bus, hotel, food and 1 flight to san Diego for the showcase. Everything else has been by bus and not even a "charter" bus more of a smaller glorified multi passenger van. Are you complaining about the bus?? If you get a charter bus then your fees will be higher and then you will complain about that. Consider yourself lucky, some DA's don't use buses at all and parents have to drive their kids.

You are all right, the total is between $6k and $7k. The includes the regular club fees and travel. I know a couple of UFA parents who have kids on GDA teams that said while on the monthly payment plan they were paying close to $1k/month. One called it their second mortgage, while the other called it their retirement nest egg(investment in their daughter) Also price will likely go up because now there is one less team to play locally, so that means a potential additional trip, travel, hotel nite stay.

Thats not actually true. Payments were half of that. And actually UFA GDA ended up spending less than what they thought and everyone got a refund/credit.

Nope, comparatively it is cheaper for a DA club that travels. But I believe it is somewhere around $2500. Now they did just add in the option of a residential program. That more recent, but they have always believed in the pay 2 play model. The residential program is extra btw.

Sorry - confused.
Are the girls paying less then the boys for Travel at UFA? I heard they flew to south Florida once? Was that not true? Do the girls take buses or vans?
Would be interesting to see a breakdown of girls VS. boys along with the dates per month of travel.
Did the girls travel less than the boys?

The girls paid a little bit more than the boys, travel was $4500.

My one opinion is this -
I do not think Coaches should have to drive buses or vans on these long away road trips.

I spoke with some UFA U17 DA parents, and they were not happy when they were UP 3-1 Sunday. The main concern I heard was the cost (rumored to be $7,000 for this season). There were also some grumblings about the coach (which is normal--every coach will have detractors), and that UFA doesn't help the boys when it comes to college recruiting. CF is seen as a much better place for college connections. I can understand the feelings about the bathroom situation, but I don't understand the complaints about $1, which was done to reduce car break-ins. I've always thought of UFA as being good with recruiting. They hold an annual ID camp (Concorde does too), and the top teams have player rosters that are handed out to college coaches who attend games. It may be team-coach-manager dependent though. That said, there's nothing stopping individual players from reaching out to coaches themselves and inviting them to attend local and away games as well as showcases. Being higher ranked at the winter showcase probably brought more coaches to see CF's U17 games than UFA's.

These are not vans, they're buses for around 50 people. One time they got to take a charter bus for the same price, compliments of the bus company

I agree and that’s great! Professional drivers is how it should be!
Could be an opportunity for clubs to help out and cover the difference in cost.

Looks like 15s at Concorde and AU wrapped up their regular season this past weekend. Both lost to NC FC youth. Concorde lost to NC fusion and AU tied them 1-1
UFA still has 4 games left in this age group.
AUs 17's and 19s also finished their regular season and both age groups won their divisions
These 3 teams will be interesting to follow for sure as they transition into next season, as both UFA and AU have a lot of 2002s rostered (AU obviously because they had an entire 2002 team play in the mens league). Concorde only has 6 2002s currently rostered.
What happens with all these 2003s is the big big big question. Tough transition year for sure. It will be very interesting in my opinion for example to see how many 2003s and 2002s stick with AU that have been there since the beginning and which kids at all 3 clubs travel to the showcase. I can't imagine AU would take kids that aren't being retained for example? Will they, last year their 02 team took a bunch of 03s to complete their roster.

Talking about tough weekend, the AU U14s got beat again by NASA 2-1. They are scheduled to play at UFA tomorrow who has beaten them twice already this season. Wonder if UFA can make it a clean sweep. I know a couple of the UFA top players are out on concussion protocol so that may make things interesting.
In other news, I know scoring alone is not a true determination of how good a team is, but in looking at the stats, it looks like the AU U13s are the only team at AU where everyone has scored at least 1 goal. That includes the Goalkeeper. That is a phenomenal feat. The U12s(2006s) are close also with only 1 or 2 left to score on the team. With a couple of games left, I hope they are able to accomplish that goal.

They were up 2-0 by 2nd half and tired out the last 15 minutes of the game and let SSA come away with a tie. SSA won the series with 2 wins and a tie for the season. AU should have a great chance for redemption. SSA will face NASA tomorrow and SSA has won both games this season. Hopefully AU had them tired and not ready for tomorrow 😃

Heard about UFA petering out with 15 minutes to go with a 2 zip lead. However, SSA does have some ballers. I also heard the U13s tied things up also. Interesting games Saturday wonder what Sunday will bring. Looking forward to AU's 13s and 14s finally playing UFA on a real sized field not the kiddies pitch they play on at Fowler that allows UFA to park the bus sometimes.

If we want to talk about whether CF or UFA will be able to get the "next 20" who aren't at AU, we should note that of the in-state kids that are joining AU at older ages, more of them are coming from clubs like KSA, GSA and Inter Atlanta than from either CF or UFA. So, the so-called "next 20" seems to not be at either club. Keep in mind that AtlUtd is free to contact players in Georgia Soccer system, ECNL, etc. throughout the year, but there are restrictions on DA programs contacting DA players from other clubs. I'm not saying you're wrong about where the "next 20" are playing, but there are fewer roadblocks when it comes to ID'ing players throughout the year that aren't already in the DA system.

UFA made it clean sweep for the season with a 2-1 win today, with the go ahead goal coming within the last minute of the game. Funny side note, the game winning scorer from UFA was brought in the last couple of weeks to "train" with the AU U14s hmmm. In other news, the UFA U13s finally found the back of the net and were able to savor a 1-1 tie. That was the first time I had seen any of the opponents of the AU U13s give a solid performance and really match up well against them. UFA was hungrier and again another side note, the one kid who last fall was on the U13s at AU and asked to be released and landed at UFA scored. All in all great fun games to watch. Boy was it scorching hot today.

So true, plus keep in mind it was a great partnership with AU when UFA didn't have all the age groups etc. That is slowly changing now that UFA has the full accompanying age groups.
