Just received this email which should affect hundreds of young recreational players:
Dear United Futbol Academy Members,
After many years of utilizing the Polo Fields Athletic Complex, we were given some unfortunate news by the owners. They have just notified us that they plan to put the property up for sale. We wanted to be sure to communicate this with our membership immediately as the owners will be placing a For Sale sign on the property soon.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our time at the fields and will be very sad to lose the location. The Polo Fields have been a key location for UFA and our membership for many years and we consider ourselves very lucky to have had access to such a wonderful location in the community.
We have been assured use of the property through the spring 2019 season meaning we will finish this spring season of 2018 as well as continue operations for the fall 2018 and spring 2019 seasons.
We will continue to serve Forsyth County for its soccer needs and work closely with Forsyth County Parks and Rec to maintain our current access to fields and hopefully add additional parks/fields to accommodate the needs of our club.

They have one year to plan and there have been rumors for years that they are planning another large facility. We will see what happens.

I had always heard rumors, there was an option to purchase, but the price was way to high. There was discussion about attempt to put stores at the front to off set cost I think at one point. Anyone have an idea on the estimated property value?

There's a four acre lot near there listed for $1.2 million - I think the property there is larger so depending if they're zoning commercial or residential, upwards of $1.8 - $2.5 million?

I believe the zoning is commercial and for years I have heard that the price was very high. This has been a long time coming and I guess we see what happens come next year. There's midway park around the corner, also Matt Park, Lanierland and Sharon Springs are not too far away. Fowler will also get field 8 back from Lacrosse and there's field 11 by the baseball fields.
The new facilities will not be done for a while and those will be north of there
