Nothing really to summarize at this time. A lot of different rumors, "my coach told me this", "I heard that", etc. Lots of different sources, and things seem to change daily.
Tryouts are in 30 days. Current season continues as is. Supposed to be some announcements, clarity, by next week. Best bet is to read threads for enjoyment but don't worry about things for at least 2 weeks. If things are not clear by Mid May, then time to demand answers if your club is Big 5.

True. For me at least, this forum has me prepared for any eventuality.

True. For me at least, this forum has me prepared for any eventuality. Cheers to that! My daughter is likely moving from a smaller club after the season transitioning from Academy to Select, but I'm completely unsure what to do. I want her to play on a good Athena A or B next year for her first year in Select. I really don't want to do the interstate travel of ECNL at the U13 level. The 3 DA clubs are simply too far away (not driving an hour and half each way for 12-year-old soccer), an hour is my max. On a semi-related note, I know that clubs recommend that you tryout all 3 nights with the same club, but when kids are changing clubs do they do that? Shouldn't the point be to try your hand at different clubs and trying to leverage a spot on the best team you can? Edit: Also, I've heard GA Soccer is likely re-designing the B-C-D brackets to go with a more North, South, East, West situation to limit travel somewhat. Not sure how that will shake out...

How are you suppose to grab a spot when you would like to try multiple options/clubs?? I get doing your research early to narrow your efforts, but sometimes it takes being there for your child to know the chemistry. Heck, this could be it's own topic...

Plus different kids respond to different coaches. I don't get the "rush" after the end of the season to get the kids signed up for another year that starts 2 months away. There's no "easy" solution, but the current way is frustrating.
