For kids considering a change, who are the best coaches your kids have had and why? Please keep it positive.

Our best coaches actually cared about fundamentals (at the early ages), getting better w/ fundamentals as we got older, and teaching technical and tactical skills. Instilled a love of the game, encouraged watching the game as a learning tool, and wanted the kids to always play - pickup, 3v3, formal game... whatever as long as they were playing. Also gave "homework" because they realized a couple of practices a week wasn't enough time with the ball.

We've been lucky to have some very good coaches starting at the earliest of ages. And - in retrospect - lucky to have some very bad ones so we knew the difference!
