CF and TH will both keep DA and ECNL teams and the 3rd teams will SCCL and the rest filling in Athena/Classic.
The info is based on what I have been reading all over the www.....

Still no solid info as to the 'why' CF needs to choose one? Seems like both are going ok, why not let it breathe for a couple of seasons? It's simple, in my mind at least, ECNL has a standard in which they were requiring the clubs with both ECNL and DA to meet (rankings)...if you don't meet their standards, you have to make a decision...and CF didn't meet the ECNL requirement playing their 2nd level teams in ECNL. ECNL is pushing the issue now...

From my understanding, CF is making the decision. I don't think ECNL is "pushing." (And if it were, one would think that would lead CF to opt toward DA given its boys DA relationship.) I think CF has done the analysis and agrees with all of the issues raised by Mass Stars director in that article a couple weeks ago (as well as the other big clubs like the Hawks, PDA, Stars, etc). These other great clubs legitimize ECNL to the extent there were any questions that DA was the premier league. I think in the next few days you are going to be surprised by the All-In list for ECNL.
From my vantage point DA is killing itself with the substitution rules and the dual age groups at 16/17 and 18/19--and high school is a lesser but real issue. As someone mentioned before, where do you put the say 03 DA kids who then go play on the 02/03 team? The club has to "cut" 8 kids.
We'll see....

Because in Athena A you have to travel to Savannah, Macon, etc and beat their clubs top team, you can play more competitive games locally.

I was under the impression it was DA ECNL NPL SCCL Tophat's website has SCCL listed but no NPL listed. They were quickest to list SCCL as their third option but they had NOT listed NPL as of last night. Also is Tophat not considering their other locations as having SCCL? Certainly their QP or MN locations often have better teams than the 4th team at Buckhead.

I'm not sure as it hasn't been announced to the coaches. Not sure about the boys side but on the girls side the 3th and 4th teams at Buckhead are typically better than the teams out of Metro North/Quest Park.

They may do like UFA where one location has NPL and another SCCL. And other than the DA team (which is a club wide team), the top team from Forsyth and Norcross will play in one or the other.
For our age group Norcross has SCCL and Forsyth has NPL. From a competitive perspective in two games the team going to SCCL beat the team going to NPL (2-0 in full scrimmage and 2-1 in Classic 1 game). In Fall SCCL team was higher ranked in Classic 1 and in Spring the NPL team is currently 2 spots ahead. The two teams are pretty much equal, though. So no 3rd, 4th teams here. They are the top team at their location.

Guess we'll find out soon. If a fourth level Athena A team finishes in 1st or 2nd, where do they go at this point?

Guess we'll find out soon. If a fourth level Athena A team finishes in 1st or 2nd, where do they go at this point? My husband brought this up to a coach as it is applicable to a team at our club. Finished top of Athena A but is a third team so not SCCL or NPL (at least as things stand now). So in Fall will they play Athena A again against weaker teams as teams below them get promoted? If you look at Concorde U16 boys (we have a friend whose kid is on Central SRPL team) and both Central and North have an SRPL team in that age group, so who goes to SCCL and who drops to Classic 1?

Maybe they will have multiple teams in the league? Instead of club wide, maybe by location? Or look at current standings

If you are one of the better plsyers on this team I assume you will play for a different team next year. That is how it works. Find sn SRPL team near you and try to make it. If not play in new Chumpions League.

I have "heard" May 1 was the date they would make a "decision"... I am using my air quotes loosely. I agree if they are keeping things the same, it should be business as usual. But the fact that a date was mentioned, they are deciding something.... And if it was business as usual, then they would say that. Nothing is being said. Everyone is being very tight lipped.

My understanding is Concorde will keep DA,ECNL,Athena & join the new SCCL. They will drop RPL/NL the same way NASA/TopHat did.

If I were GB & Co. I would keep DA on the boys side and keep ECNL on the girls side. Right now DA has a higher profile on the boys side and there is a pathway to the Pros, College and the National Team. On the girls side ECNL has the infrastructure and prestige for a pathway to College and the National Team which provides a pathway to the NWSL. This also helps with keeping their relationship with both the USSF and ECNL. Down the line when things are ironed out and there is a true shift they'll already have a relationship in place to easily come back into ECNL on the boys side or GDA. Futsal Gawdess - Are you sure you are not the DOC of a club I'm going to place my bet that your comment is probably 99.9% going to come to fruition. I will be back in a few days to requote you when they finally announce what is happening.
