So, it is an understatement to say there is going to be a huge shakeup in the landscape of Georgia soccer affiliations for the upcoming 2018/19 season. My concern is that only very small minority of parents have any clue of the changes coming.
Will the clubs be honest prior to tryouts so the parents can make informed decisions. The vast majority of girls are not on DA teams, they majority fall into the category of picking clubs based off of a preference of the ECNL/NPL/NL/Champions league/Athena A level.

Honestly soccermaxx72 the onus is on us as parents to read before we purchase. Ask questions and play out scenarios. Clubs should be starting the marketing and information campaign shortly with tryouts looming. However, some do a better job than others. I would start with parents on the team that seem to be in the know, then move on to your TM/Coach and if you still don't feel comfortable talk to the higher ups. But all of it starts with where you realistically think your kid could end up and what they want to do. So for a girl, do you think they have a chance at DA then you go the route of a NTH, CF and UFA and then work your way up from there with location etc. Boys would go a different route, but if they are DA material you would instead chose UFA/CF and AU if they are lucky to be good enough since they are the only ones who have U15 and higher. Either way Good Luck!

I was wondering the same with clubs being as informative and upfront as they can be. There are many parents in the lower ages or are making the move from academy to select that just don't know how f'ed up this landscape of youth soccer has become. Sure the onus is on the parents to educate themselves, but if you don't know to ask (or what to ask) it could cause some bad experiences that would last a year thanks to the full year commitment contract. It will only make matters worse if each club isn't honest with the parents and they have to sift through the deception. I think that was soccermaxx's point??

exactly, I guarantee most parents are still unware of the looming Champions league and the inability to play RPL

True, I think that's why it has to be a holistic approach. One can't just speak to or get info from one source. Look for someone who seems to be in the know but then again still confirm what they tell you, look in on forums like this to get an inkling of what's on the horizon.

Tryout registrations are open now but in the UFA website for example, there is no information whatsoever about these changes. How about the other clubs?

As for clubs being honest and upfront...from my limited 3 years of academy experience...not really.
