NPL ?

There are supposed to be a home and away game against everyone in your division. So if 8 teams in your division, then 14 games. That's comparable to the number of games many teams played last year in Classic (Our Fall division actually had 10 teams so we only played 9 games). But if you played Classic and NPL last year then you no longer have those extra 8 NPL games. That can be made up in local tournaments probably at a less cost than it took to travel for extra NPL games last year. Or by scheduling some friendlies. Thank you! We played SRPL and NPL ... I am not a fan of NPL.. in our age group most teams were not strong and there is no relegation so the weaker teams do not get demoted. We should be allowed to play SCCL and NPL not just NPL. I don't understand...Norcross SCCL and Forsyth NPL... it doesn't make any sense to me at all. In our age group Forsyth and Norcross were both in Classic 1. With creating SCCL the Big 5 lost any advancement opportunities in Classic/Athena which I don't think they planned on (personal assumption). This forced them to find spots for Forsyth and Norcross teams. Forsyth because it's the Mother Ship, and Norcross because its a little too big just to abandon back to Classic 1. Not sure why they backed off the original intent of forming a SCCL team by combining players from Forsyth and Norcross, which is how GSA has announced they will create their SCCL team. Also interesting that on the US Club site I cannot find an reference that positions NPL or PL (Premier Leagues like SCCL) over each other. Looks to me like they are positioned side by side with different advantages. So that makes me question why UFA decided to position NPL over SCCL in their structure. In the end the only thing that has been made clear is that at UFA Forsyth is the top priority. Norcross is next on the list, and the others like Milton and Mountains are a barely in the conversation. Definitely something to keep in mind when deciding where to play next year.

Question... everyone is talking about the cost of ECNL and DA, but does NPL cost the same as well? I mean, with all the travel I would assume so, but I don't want to assume...

DA you have no control of things like transportation and hotel costs. 2. ECNL you have more control of transportation and hotel but yes your travel to out of state matches would likely require a hotel night or two (unless you want to drive home from Florida after a match) and showcases may prevent car travel 3. In theory the matches for NPL are more local driving distance NC or SC so you may have a few less hotel stays.

Curious, since both NPL and ECNL are under US Club, why wouldn't a club like SSA or AFC not get ECNL if US Club grants them NPL? I have seen posts that many consider NPL a step below ECNL, but at least when ECNL boys began, the clubs that got it were in RPL along with SSA (at least at 01b group). And NPL teams that perform well will play ECNL teams that finished high in the ENPL playoffs... So I just wonder why the distinction? Clubs that got Boys ECNL already had Girls ECNL. SSA’s problem is a lack of consistent quality. A couple of fantastic teams like the 05G but problem is lots of age groups without quality. If 05G got recruited away to play ECNL or DA at another club then the next level SSA team to take their place is Athena B.

I am very happy at UFA Forsyth .... but as of it now... these changes are disappointing... and the big five are doing it as well ... NPL to me is the same as ECNL less competitive ,no relegation and it is expensive! I heard that ECNL is as expensive or more than DA! I am curious about CF, according to their website they are playing SCCL, ECNL, RPL, SRPL

NPL was definitely an added cost for us last year as we had 3 weekends that required a hotel stay, and that was on the shorter schedule. I’m sure it is possible that this isn’t always the case but that was our experience.

I have seen talk about NPL expanding to a fall and a spring schedule but can't seem to find any info on this to confirm it. Does anyone have any information on this, or a link, or something?
