www.charlottesocceracademy.com/Default.aspx?tabid=445284&mid=468859&newskeyid=HN1&newsid=40131003&ctl=newsdetail from the Charlotte SA press-release. Teams involved will be Carolina Rapids, Charlotte Soccer Academy, Charlotte Soccer Academy – North, Discoveries Soccer Club, North Carolina Fusion, North Carolina FC Youth – Del Sol, North Carolina FC Youth – North, North Carolina FC Youth – South, and Queen City Mutiny Games will be scheduled in conjunction with the existing U12 DA schedule, same 22-26 player roster size, same 9v9 competition, etc. Interesting development that could be coming to GA soon? With the AU junior's program in full swing, you have to wonder, right?

Please don't do that here in Georgia!!!
Why -- because you only would play the same 6 teams. No games against AFU, GSA, InterAtlanta, the list goes on and on. You also will start dipping into kids that are so young. The u9-u12 academy years used to be great years. Yes, teams play too many tournaments, but great years, with flexibility to play many games against a variety of competition.

They just cut all the other small clubs in NC off at the knees with this kind of thing. All the DA clubs just insulated themselves against all the other 'riff raff". The players from the coast and the mountains can't help it they don't have a DA program and can't drive 3 hours one way to practice and now they will be even further ostracized by this move. And yes, that's going to be pretty boring to play the same kids over and over and over again from U9 through U13 because even the U12 and U13 academies do not travel outside the state for competition so they would potentially be playing the same kids forever.
I also have to add that these clubs are NOT close to each other. NCFC is in Raleigh with the closest club of NC Fusion being 2 hours away and all those Charlotte clubs are 3 hours away.

Very exclusionary for sure, and I know in a few of those cities, its been a challenge reaching out to Hispanics. This will not help at all.

Saying that all of these clubs are not close together is sort of a byproduct of NC having 3 sort of metro areas as opposed to one large metropolis like Atlanta. But agree with most of what else is here. With the number of non-DA clubs around here and how spread out the best players are (especially at U11), it wouldn't make much sense to do this here. But it would be cool for the AU juniors to get to play some matches together

But it would be cool for the AU juniors to get to play some matches together It’s true. Greensboro and Winston have merged, so that area is now one club. Obviously CASL or whatever they are called is one club in Raleigh with multiple teams. Charlotte at least has multiple organIzations. I think they already were playing these clubs anyway, only difference is now the single player pool and the smaller clubs being left out. I think Fusion even has a satellite now that is mostly Hispanic, but like I said before - they were having a hard time selling the kids and families on DA. Cost is a barrier for sure. Not sure also that level of orgzantion is necessary at such a young age. Just let the kids play. Used to love the days when you would show up, your kid would play and guest with other teams. They just played. They had fun and played for other coaches. Maybe a different position. Just had fun.
