We're currently at Rush. Curious to know how many Rush parents are looking at NTH Milton. I’m not a current or former Rush parent but there were a lot of Rush boys and girls there. In fact I heard 175-200 was the number of campers. I didn’t take the time to count. A lot of CF kids there wearing their practice shirts. The director seemed excited and overjoyed in his Pre tryout speech.

Milton - “the next Soccer capital of the southeast”
Will be interesting to see what tryouts look like - seems a long way from Concorde north for parents to take make that move.

Concorde Fire North parents are trying out everywhere. I personally know parents on the rising u13 that would be at Concorde Fire North trying out at nth Milton, UFA Norcross and LSA

... seems a long way from Concorde north for parents to take make that move. Tonight had lots of red CF North shirts across the ages and genders. Might be a long way for some, much easier for others... but lots of soccer crazy parents (especially at tryout time) make much bigger sacrifices for their kids. Some soccer savvy parents tend to follow quality coaches regardless of changes to location, new jersey color, or even (in some cases) league.

Sad for those North boys who will be playing SCCL instead of good competition. It will ruin their chances of ever playing CF DA by switching to NTH and missing out on DA and ECNL

Plus not every kid wants to play DA or ECNL and live in hotels and ride greyhounds every weekend.

The CF North u12 team (girls) was very good this year. My guess is NTH, UFA or LSA would be happy to have most of those girls.

Sad for those North boys who will be playing SCCL instead of good competition. It will ruin their chances of ever playing CF DA by switching to NTH and missing out on DA and ECNL Yes, because Classic 1 will have great competition this year with teams that were Classic 2 filling most Classic 1 spots. The reality is that every league below DA and ECNL will be watered down with teams dispersing to multiple alphabet leagues.

It will ruin their chances of ever playing CF DA by switching to NTH and missing out on DA and ECNL To be encouraging, just because anyone's child is switching to a club without ECNL or DA, doesn't mean that they'll never play DA or ECNL for CF or anyone other club. CF sure as heck doesn't recruit only from within, and I can tell you that things change over time. Unless you're Messi, someone who is considered a top player at U13 or U14 doesn't mean that they'll be considered tops when they're older.

We're currently at Rush. Curious to know how many Rush parents are looking at NTH Milton. Rush lost its entire G07 and several other 06-10 players both boys and girls to NTH Milton this past week. Word on the streets of Milton are that many more are expected for Select tryouts this week. Only time will tell.

Heard that most of the top 07G team followed coach Alex. They have some good coaches there on the girls side (Kevin, Mitch) that aren't going to have much to work with.

It is there way of getting more kids to look at their club. I think they have had extra tryout days for at least the last 5 years.

I think it's really important for players/families to understand that GA Rush and NTH Milton offer two different products for their teams and players. At GA Rush, when an Athena A or Classic 1 team is successful, they will get promoted to the National League/Piedmont section. There is a great amount satisfaction for a team to be successful and reach a goal and move up together.
I am not sure where NTH Milton teams/players would go in this scenario, but I do know it's not the NL path.
I don't care what option people prefer, but I think it's important for everyone to understand the product they are buying.

Would be helpful if someone made a map of club locations and what is based/offered at each location. Not like the GA soccer club finder which is actually a club/field finder. Showing DA/ECNL/NPL/NL/SCCL/athena/classic levels by age group and gender. Would help many of us understand the GA landscape better, especially at clubs we're not familiar with.

It’s surprising that these clubs are not explaining the various leagues to the families and the impact on the teams. It sounds like the 02 team for NTH milton will be playing SCCL because its likely the current 02 CF north team that won the state championship. The 03 team will be at classic level TBD but if the they improve then they may have to go to main location because that’s where the sccl team will be which may be a full team already. Time will tell. Meanwhile depending on age and level, I would only expect impact to rush to move for teams that are borderline.

This is a good conversation to have for sure. To give a little more color to randomsoccerparent's comments: The NTH 03 team that improves: This scenario would involve the individual players to head to Buckhead for tryouts and fight for an SCCL spot or higher if the kid wants. I'm not sure there is a path for the team to advance?
Its so hard to make a decision for the long term with all of the constant league changes, but I encourage everyone to try look at a long view especially if your kid likes his/her team. And if they want a new team/coach, well they live in the right state for options!
