Frosted Orange opens his account Possibly the most popular player on Atlanta United only has 14 minutes in MLS this season, but Andrew Carleton did something in the 14th minute of the US Open Cup that he hasn’t done for the Five Stripes so far: net a goal in a competitive match. With Atlanta looking to get off on the right foot as the team searches to win it’s first Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match against the Charleston Battery, Powder Springs Pulisic fired in a long range effort against the USL side. Here is the video Carleton - First Competitive GOAL!!!The Georgia 🍑 from deep! This is the youngster’s first competitive goal for the first-team. Despite scoring in the team’s first friendly against Chattanooga FC and getting an assist earlier this year, he hadn’t scored in a competitive game until tonight. The match is perhaps a look to the future of Atlanta United as Ezequiel Barco is leading the midfield and Carleton is cutting in from the wing. Congrats Andrew, this is no doubt the first of many peaches that you’ll deposit into the basket! www.dirtysouthsoccer.com/2018/6/6/17436398/andrew-carleton-nets-first-professional-goal-us-open-cup-atanta-united-charleston-battery-mls-usl

It’s odd - he wasn’t in either lineup for yesterday’s games - no Atl United first team or AU 2?

AU takes 19 guys on road trips in case someone in the 18 gets injured and needs to be replaced. AC was the 19th guy on Saturday. Seems like a bit of a waste imo, but considering that Almiron injured his shoulder and Villalba is still out, it seems like there's a better chance he'll play on Wednesday vs. Columbus.

I guess we will see Wed night, but looks like Romario Williams would still be first sub, with Kratz, and then maybe Vasquez. Then depending upon starting back 4, maybe Ambrose, would come off the bench. Ambrose has played very well. I'm also a big Kratz fan, mature and plays nice and simple 2 touch ball . Maybe if Almiron can't go, Kratz or Williams start, and then Carleton sneaks in as 3rd sub.
