While at another club on the 2nd day of tryouts a mom told me she was called and asked if her kid or anyone else was interested in trying out for the 2nd tier ECNL team. Tells you all you need to know.

Concorde has only one ecnl team at the 05 girls age. Sccl is the second team and Athena A is the third. There were plenty of 05 girls at encl and sccl tryouts.

"Concorde Fire is also excited to announce that we will field two ECNL teams in the U15, U16, U17 and U18 age groups for the 2018-2019 season. There will continue to be one team in the U13 and U14 age groups." SSA held NPL and SCCL tryouts for 05 girls. ENCL tryouts were at Central.

I was referring to the older age groups looking to attract more interest at the ECNL level... Like we were talking about in another thread, the older age groups for girls really lose numbers as they age up. I get it, other interests, injuries, etc...
But that is even more reason to get this tryout/multiple leagues/out of control cost madness corrected. Need to increase the development, reduce the player/parent anxieties, and keep the love of the game of soccer going for these kids.

ECNL required that the 06 & 05 ECNL teams have 2 squads as well. So it was a win/win for CF and SSA because they got the automatic slots at those age groups. You are correct about the older groups, but the 2 younger groups, get it automatically.

Ok again, anyone know who’s coaching ATHENA teams at Concorde? I don’t care about ECNL, SCCL, NPL, R3PL, NRA, IRA, NCAA, WHO, Alphabet Soup or Spaghetti O’s.

Concorde doesn’t believe in posting information on their website or do they believe in email. Some find this annoying others might say it’s smart.

Curious what do you mean by this comment: While at another club on the 2nd day of tryouts a mom told me she was called and asked if her kid or anyone else was interested in trying out for the 2nd tier ECNL team. Tells you all you need to know.
Sounds to me like some pointless club bashing where none was warranted.

O5 Girls Coaching List - Concorde Central Adam Halliday - SCCL Mark Carr - Athena A Matt Francoletti - Athena B Essy E - Athena C Thank you! So this Athena B team is brand new? Love how Concorde can just demand placement for teams considering Halliday’s SCCL team placed 5th in Athena A, Carr’s Athena A team finished 10th in Athena B, and the only other non-U12 team finished 3rd in Athena D. 🤦🏻♂️

You do know that the 05 sccl team isn’t the same girls from the Athena A team? If not, the 05 sccl team is not the same team as the athena A team from spring season.

So the coaches got promoted and didn’t take their players and team? So then you’re saying the SCCL team is a brand new team Concorde stole from someone else?

No. What I’m saying is Concorde held tryouts for the new sccl team. Girls that came to tryouts of their on free will and some of those girls made the team. Isn’t how the process is suppose to work? Why do you think girls would just be placed on teams and not evaluated based on skills. Can’t have it both ways.

I have had this conversation with a lot of people who just assumed that the big clubs would just move whole teams up. As if people don't move clubs for various different reasons year to year. I have a friend at a small club with a very good team who is convinced that her team could beat Tophat 05 ECNL team next season because she assumes that all of the girls on that team will be the exact same girls that were on Tophat Gold this past season. I don't personally know what the exact turnover was from NTH 05 Gold to next year's ECNL team but I do know that there were a lot of players from other clubs that came into tryouts for DA and ECNL and some shuffling happened. Players moved down, new people came in etc. At our club only 7 girls (including her) from my daughter's team last season are on the same team with her. There are 6 or 7 others from the same club but different teams and 3 or 4 kids from other clubs. More than 50% roster turnover.

Tells you all you need to know. Sounds to me like some pointless club bashing where none was warranted. It means be VERY CAREFUL. I know it's part of the tryouts "game" for some but to consider trying out at the last second (on 3rd day) at a new club for a team/coach that you may not know too much about is a potential recipe for disaster. It can apply to any club. I'm sure most coaches from all the clubs would love to have as many kids as possible tryout for spots on their teams. Like many posts on this board have stated, the preparation for determining which club/team/coach to play for needs to be done WEEKS in advance, not on the 2nd or 3rd day of tryouts.
