Clearly there is no love lost between these two teams. Last I counted there were at least 8 yellow cards issued, mostly to Weston. Not a fan of their style of play.

Yea, was a brutal game. physical and Weston had many good chances
don't take this the wrong way, but if AU is one of the best 4 teams in the country in this age group, we are in trouble as a nation....... I saw zero creative play out of AU, except from Suzuki. Kids a stud for sure. I was impressed with Westin, they had a few very good chances in the first half and their forward was making some nice runs. Heard they had 3 kids move away prior to this playoffs also, atlana united prospects had posted that 1 went to everton and 2 signed with other mls squads. pretty crazy

There has been rumors of 3 boys moving over from Weston, with two potentially already on the Nat'l Team Pool. Not sure if it's this age group or the current 2003s. Now Barca Academy looked so much more creative in their style of play.

What the hell is the point of removing shirt? Did they win the National Championship?

Agree that AU lacked creativity in that match, although outside of the striker and a defensive mid playing out of position, all of the other attackers are 02's. That group has a lot of potential but not much experience at this level. With all respect to the striker, the best 01 attacker in the state is with KSA at Southern regionals.
As for the rest of the playoffs, the clear best team left is the Sounders and I'll be shocked if they don't win. Nearly half their starting XI is already playing in USL.

Dudes a flat out stud and from what I’ve heard he turned down their first home grown offer.
There were issues I believe with his international clearance. He guested with them in the non US soccer events.

US Youth Soccer should have to go through the same international clearance and age verification as US DA and US Club/ ECNL.

Does US club check like DA does when a player has foreign birth certificate and require international clearance. Part of the issue as well, doesn't it need to be completed by like mid August?

All I know is regardless if AU wins the championship or not, I'd be all over a few of those Weston players!
Is Weston doing a better job developing players than AU? Way to early to tell obviously, but man, I was much more impressed with them -- they weren't relying 0n brute force and athleticism.

Follows exact same process From what I’ve heard, Concorde was somehow able to clear a player for ECNL that Atlanta United couldn’t/wouldn’t play in DA matches due to eligibility concerns.

I saw where US Club references the same international clearance procedure but maybe the actual process is less stringent. Anyway, good thing to have in place and IMO a policy that should have a little more backbone.
