Maybe I’m too sensitive, but the arrogance of this statement pisses me off ( and I have a kid that plays DA). Maybe I’m being harsh, just bothers me

It is the "all the top players, all in one place" which is the problem. We know that isn't true because there are great players who live in places that don't have DA and/or choose not to participate. Or even teams that did not make playoffs. The interview was fine...I didn't hear him say that there. He was just saying that it is nice to have so many talented kids in one place.

The people in the USSF and everyone associated with the Federation are prone to be blinded by their ignorance. They don't say such stupid things accidentally.

Was the "world class" banner hanging?

I can see how it would agitate you. I think most parents on the forum and around the country know that this is flat out incorrect. It might be viewed as the highest level of youth soccer currently, but all the "top" players, I think not. Having said that, could it just be their marketing PR dept. using this as a wink, wink, nod, nod, that to get on the YNT, DA is the pathway?
