Hi All, Not from here, but I've contributed in the past and hope someone might respond. Not looking for dirt or controversy, just hoping to confirm what my own Google search seems to suggest. Fabrice Gautrat, former GA Rush coach, has followed his new bride Morgan Brian (USWNT, Red Stars) up to Chicago and has just been hired as a GDA coach at the club in my neighborhood. Social media profile suggests he is a good coach and even better person-- something this club desperately needs right now. Like I said, not looking for dirt, hopefully... just confirmation that the club made a good decision and what to expect. 1st year of GDA here was pretty much a dumpster fire, but most of the arsonists are gone. Hoping this will be a new start for the better. Thanks,

Fabrice is a clasd act. We only used him for private training but you will get the same reaction from his Club parents and kids as well. He's a good person and a great coach. Any club would be lucky to have him at the helm.

Great guy and very good coach. Invested in the girls and does things the right way. Sorry to see him leave GA Rush - you have a good one.

My daughter had him as a coach, he is an excellent coach and a remarkable person. The girls in his teams were really sad when he left GA Rush.

I thought they moved to France after they got married. She was playing in the French league but it wasn’t going well. Did they move back to the states?

Thanks everyone for the sincere feedback. It is what I had expected, and hoped to hear. I can only add what I have uncovered online. When I first looked up his social media profile it did look like they were off to Paris forever after leaving Georgia. However, I think Morgan Brian was hurt more often than healthy over there and at some point she signed a contract with the Red Stars in Chicago, and that is what drove him to Chicago. It must be a difficult set of (mostly good) choices they have to juggle while she is pursuing a playing career.
I understand he will be coaching the youngest and oldest GDA teams for FC United. The club recently changed ownership. It is now owned by a for-profit sports training business called Sports Made Personal (SMP). The 'performance' type training SMP sells is very good, and very expensive, and people in these parts eat it up. If anyone thinks the tide of Pay to Play sports is turning, SMP buying this club would suggest PtP is only getting bigger. It doesn't seem like selling soccer experiences is what Fabrice is interested in, and I hope they don't twist his arm to sell more 'product' to the parents.
I don't know how SMP pulled off getting a guy like Fabrice, but good for them (the players that is), because the girls deserve better than what they had previously. Hopefully the club will treat Fabrice well and it will be a good experience for everyone. High school soccer around here is a pretty big draw. Having a coach that players want to play for will go a long way to soften the blow of not having the option to play high school.
