U14 Classic I team CFA Gainesville. looking at my kids schedule I saw CFA Gainesville. Their home games are played in Rome Ga? Now finding out that this team use to be GA Express FC Genoa 05. Trying to figure out how or why players from Gainesville, left Ga Express and travel two hours to a small soccer field(Garden Lakes Elementary) to play home games. Now under umbrella of CFA? What am I missing?

The "city" that GA Soccer has for many teams is garbage data. Not sure where they got this but ignore it and lookup the club.

The CFA teams are listed by location (Dalton, Rome and now Gainesville) and a majority of the kids on those teams actually do live in or very near that location, +-30 minutes typically. The CFA Gainesville players are from Gainesville.

Perhaps the city is the home address of the coach?
I know for a fact U14G Athena B Athens United Gold are not based in Bethlehem. I kinda doubt U13G Athena B Atlanta Fire Gold are based in Marietta.

Heard CFA is working on stabilizing a couple branches like the big clubs. Wonder what LSA will do with CFA in the same area.

That’s correct. The City for the team in Ga Soccer is based off the address the coach on file has on their file. As this is something that doesn’t always get updated when a coach moves the city may not be completely accurate.
