There are actually 8 teams from each state in the NL for boys- 2 divisions. Surprisingly very little travel compared to SRPL- only two trips each season to the Carolinas. Very similar travel to SCCL and some could argue less since all games are centralized to one location for each weekend of play. Definitely a higher level of competition than SCCL right now but that could change over time. I’m guessing that the competition level will continue to get further and further apart though as many quality players realize that one of the most important things for development(behind the coach) is competitive matches week in and week out. NL/RPL has clearly been better this season from an organizational standpoint, no argument there. One big issue that I never hear talked about is that there is a reason Georgia has 3 girls DA clubs, 4 girls ECNL clubs while a state like Alabama has 1. Before those leagues existed it must have been so frustrating for Georgia team 5,6,7 who did not make RPL but saw lower level teams from other states make the cut. that I think fits in with the post and I don't ever see brought up is the mandatory slots from each state. Why should Alabama get the same number of spots as Georgia? Look how many DA/ECNL clubs Georgia/NC/FL are able to support vs some of the other states in region 3. Before DA/ECNL we had teams travelling the region and games that were often 6+ goal differences while we had 10 Georgia teams that they could have had a better game against locally. 2 GDA clubs not 3 In the past with RPL, states like Alabama would get 2 spots like everyone else BUT they would wind up giving up a spot and then states like Georgia would get an extra team in. Thats how sometimes teams that didn't earn a spot would get to play 1st division RPL, because it would just go to the next in line

Why did Sccl include out of state teams when the intended purpose of the league was for lower teams not to travel? The only travel that SCCL is supp to do is to AL to play BUSA and Vestavia and those are day trips. I believe they will also go to Disney. I would be surprised to hear that NL only has 2 day trips?

My daughter is in SCCL and it is one weekend to play both AL teams and a day trip to Greenville SC to play CESA. And yes we will be going to Disney

Don't forget the drive up and down to CESA. The schedule calls for teams to travel to Alabama and play both BUSA and VHSC in a Saturday/Sunday set, so you only have to travel and stay out of town once. Or you can travel there and return home, then return the next day for the second game. Depending on where you stay in metro Atlanta, it's a 2-3 hour drive. I guess no different than having to drive from Gainesville down to play AFC
