Sounds like scrimmaging the AU teams isn’t a good strategy especially if they should have won by 7 or 8 goals. Depends on how you look at it. Having an MLS team in the mix tends to skew things towards the MLS club and their players. I think this model is better because it exposes more players to the scouts. Now, i'm not saying everyone from AU would get a call into the NTC local camp, but a majority of those chosen would be from AU. US Soccer tends to take about 18 players per session with add-ons when a chosen player can't play for injury, travel etc. From what I know of at this age group, I would say easily 11 boys from AU that would make that roster. That leaves only 7 or so other boys that would get a real chance to showcase for the scouts. With the current model, you give 18+ solid boys a chance to be seen. If we're being honest, the scout only "jotted" things down when good play was done by the non-AU players. I think because he already has the opportunity and the relationship with the AU brass to determine which of the AU players are on his radar to be chosen for a chance for the Nat'l Team.

Is there an east coast mini camp for the 04s? As of today, only the U14s(2005s) will have a mini-camp. The mini-camp model is for the youngest Nat'l Team U14 BNT/GNT. The girls begin this next year for the 2006s. The U15s(2004) already have a semblance of a team and are already doing National Team Camps. They just had a team camp a few weeks ago...FG Got it. Thanks. I was talking to a friend of mine’s son who participated in the 04 session today. He said the person from USSoccer there mentioned another event later this spring for 04 boys.

Yes, they are going to have another one specifically for the 2004s in May. From what I gather, they will also have them play the 2004(U15s) from AU
