With Comcast dropping beIN Sports, I'm highly motivated to cut the cord and figure out the best solution to watching soccer TV for 2018-19. Does anyone have advice on the different streaming services?
I mainly watch the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, La Liga and the USMNT, as well as some USWNT and US National U23 and youth teams. I like to watch matches live but end up having to use the dvr a lot, so dvr is a must. Fast forwarding commercials is nice. That reminds me...also, my wife needs Bravo and HGTV.
I'm going to research FuboTV, SlingTV, BR Live, and ESPN+ to see the best option/combo for coverage and cost. Anyone already done this?
Time saving advice is always appreciated. Please share.

Look into PlayStation Vue as well. I don't watch as much soccer as I used to but get NBCSports, ESPN, FS1, FS2. You can add on FoxSoccer+ (and of course ESPN+ if wanted) With Vue you can use the Network apps with your login and see more games on NBC Sports app for instance. Though they have gone to a teir system for all games this season.
For the wife it does have BRAVO and HGTV.
The price is creeping up into the cable territory at 45-50 a month, but still cheaper.
The technology allows you to tag shows you want and it gives you a virtual DVR for playback later.

I'm a total noob at reddit and the free streams. Wish I knew someone who could teach me this stuff. It looks like a great way to save some money. But how safe is it? Ever get malware or a virus? How dependable is it?

How dependable is it? Give it a spin. Typically posters will mention any issues and also how many "clicks" it takes to get to the actual site. I've not had any issues so far and other than an occasional lag (which could be my provider) the streams are pretty dependable.

Outside of bootleg streaming, Sling Blue+Orange is the most economical and reliable way to get as close to your wishes as possible. (If you also want Comedy Central)
I’ve had Sling for about a year, using Roku set top boxes and all’s well. Also works well on the mobile phone, such as when you want to watch Barca but your family insists you go to college football game. Prior to Sling, I had PlayStation Vue. It was even better IMO... until they dropped BeIn Sport. YouTube TV is excellent also but it lacks LaLiga coverage.
I don’t pay for Sling’s DVR function so cannot comment on that.
