I think it depends on the relationship between coach and kid. I’ve seen girls AAU basketball coaches do worse but they develop great players and usually if the kids know the coach cares about them they handle it just fine.

Kid needs to "take the force" [the words of the guy in the video], clearly. Stupid f-ing game.

The question I have was this a coach or a parent? If this is a parent, I hope the kid doesn't lose his passion for the game

Is he trying to force the kid to tear his ACL with a lateral acceleration as he plants? For the love of God, stop.

Is he trying to force the kid to tear his ACL with a lateral acceleration as he plants? For the love of God, stop. Lol! No worries on that for this little guy. Not enough force there plus if he learns to get low enough it will teach him posture that will protect him from that later. HOWEVER I am not personally comfortable with watching this video and the tactics. Interesting that my spouse and I disagree on whether this video is excessive or not. I agree with another poster about parent vs coach too. I don't think I would feel comfortable with a coach hitting my kid like that..
