I guess it is always better to have a contract to play, regardless of who the coach is going to be. I would rather have an idea as to who the coach is going to be and have a chance to hear how he intends on using me before I resign with a club. We all know about the situation with AC and Tata.

Carleton was suspended for the final and was not allowed to participate in the post game festivities due to discipline issues. Heard he was drunk/partying the night before and posted on Snapchat

The kids of today always bust themselves by resorting to Social Media to document their stupidity. I'm so thankful social media wasn't a thing when we grew up.

You know why kids can't stay off social media? Because the most valuable currency in the world is "likes" and approval, to kids that's more valuable than money.

I don’t know about the situation. What’s this mean? Not that this counts for much since it involves the federation, but the USSF considered AC one of their best prospects in the 20 and under group of players in the country. Tata did not and never understood why he was rated so highly. So much so that he always went outside the country to find better prospects. Word is, if AC wasn't under contract and the first homegrown, he would have cut him or relegated him to AU2. His lashing out Friday nite was akin to a final "middle" finger to Tata and in classic Tata style he fired one last shot before he left to show AC he is still the boss. Let's not forget, Tata can be petty when pushed. On the other hand, the poor kid is lost right now. He has always had success in anything he has touched and he is going through the growing pains of being in a situation that you have no control over. I wish him well and hope he's able to gel better with the new coach and fit better into what ever system they implement.

As a school counselor in the middle of cyber-bullying lessons and digital awareness, I am including this in my conversations this week, along with the Heisman Trophy winner's shenanigans from years ago. Teens feel they are impervious because it what they say is in cyberspace.

It will be interesting to follow the homegrowns over the next few years, because I find it hard to believe that a year in the USL was better for Kunga then going to college for a few years. I get it some of these kids aspirations is to be professional players and school just isn't for them.
My guess is Bello cracks into the starting lineup next season and gets more minutes, but Escobar stepped his game up big time in the playoffs. Garza is garza, just straight quality. He's injury prone etc, but from all accounts it sounds like the back 4 will stay in tact.
Look everyone gives college soccer crap, but of the Americans that played for Atlanta United on Saturday night they all did some time in the college ranks: Guzan - South Carolina Nagbe - Akron Parkhurst - Wake Larentowicz - Brown Gressel - not american, but i'll count him - Providence

This situation with Tata must be frustrating for him, but is not unusual for young pros or just young kids in general. There was the opposite situation for Leroy Sane. Pep thinks he is fantastic, but Germany passed him over and then got booted out of WC in group stage. Not all coaches will see the same things in a player. As for him having success in anything he touched, this experience with Tata will hopefully help him grow to be stronger. Life is full of roadblocks and setbacks and learning to navigate them when young should make him stronger. He needs to look at it that way rather than trying to "flip off" a person that did not think highly of him. Prove him wrong...that is the best revenge.

So it looks like AC is still in time-out or he chose not to show-up for the AU Victory Parade. Saw his dad and his brothers who play for the AU Academy and the SSA DA team. Did not want to bring up a touchy subject on a gloomy but happy celebration day.
AU had their younger Academy players on one Double Decker bus and the first team players on the second. Nice experience for those young lads to see what they are working for.
