Anyone watch the game last night? AU was completely outclassed. Penalty in the first half was soft, but Monterray probably could have put 5 or 6 on AU had they finished a little better.

Should have subbed sooner. Not impressed at all with Shea.... bad passing from him.

Pity got beat up from the start. I think he was fouled 10 times. 2nd half was called better in my opinion, but you can see how these Concacaf games are called and you adjust. We were soft all night.
I don't get the 3-4-3 formation to be honest. Why not with just play a 4 back system and always push the week side back up forward. ambrose cannot play in this formation. He was irrlevant except for not tracking back on defense where he was exposed. I like the kid, but he is not an attacking player. Could have played with him if you are going 4 in the back, but not in the current formation.
Shea is regressing with each game, and barco needs to calm the hell down.
Regardless of all that, how do you not sub ealier, how do you not make 1 change as a manager that you think can change that game. Not a single adjustment or change. That's a joke, why even have a coach at that point. Unless Villalba was hurt, there is no excuse for him not getting into that game sooner.
Its very very very earlier, and I don't think the sky is falling - but you have to make adjustments when thinks arent' working as a manager, so far none have been made.
I'd take Carleton any day over ambrose in that outside position. Yes, Carleton doesn't defend, but hell did ambrose? Did Shea? At least Carleton will give you something on the offensive end. I'm not obssed with AC, but I'm sorry, Ambrose ain't the solution.
Lastly -- wow -- how important is Gressel to this team. Kid better get paid next year.

Anyone know why Larentowicz is not starting? I thought he was an impact player last year.

I don't know about putting 5 or 6 past them. AU didn't play that bad - 1-0 until the 80th min. And the officiating was HORRIBLE. AU could not come through midfield w/o being hacked down. PK given to Rayados was ridiculous. Monterrey committed almost double the fouls AU did and yet AU was shown more cards (on much softer fouls). Where was the persistent infringement calls? Monterrey could have easily been down a man had consistent calls been made. Add to that, MLS just started whereas Monterrey is like 9/10 games into their season. And FdB not subbing until 87th min. after the team had just played Sunday - none of it made sense. All of that to say, AU was not outclassed.

Agree that the reffing was horrible and that the penalty was a joke, but other than that, we must have watched a different game. Monterray won every battle on the ball (much stronger and more physical) and created at least 10 chances that were better than anything AU created all night.

It definitely went from a 1-0 game on a gift from the ref, to what could have been very very ugly, and they were lucky to get out of there only being 3-0!

I don't know. 17 shots only 5 on goal. Guz made 2 saves. Now compared to AU's anemic offense, yes they created more. But as far as winning every battle and being stronger/more physical... had the ref made calls on obvious fouls and been consistent w/ AU and Rayados - those "battles won" would be a different story.

Braco’s terrible. He’s stealing money for what he’s giving us. No wonder Tata didn’t play him much. For all the complaining about Shea he’s doing about the same as Garza did.

Watching ATL UTD right now is hard to see especially with the recent results. Players and PdB both need time for familiarity IMO. I hope to find more consistency in the next 4-6 weeks.

Hopefully a game at MBS against Cincinnati is the elixir that is needed right now. I want to see four goals from Josef, and two Andrew Carleton assists.
