Where are the top teams from each club playing next year for 07 girls?
UFA - NPL until DA starts at U14? Tophat - ECNL? What happens to Gold North, Milton Gold and Gold II? CF - ECNL SSA - getting CF’s 2nd ECNL spot? GSA - ECNL AFU - ECNL AFC - ? Santos, Henry County, Interatlanta, Ambush, Smyrna and other smaller clubs - Athena

Rumored and heard from different coaches around the team dinner table that top teams (Gold) at AFC will be playing NPL only next year.

I believe everything and everyone is on hold till TH decides to go public with what they are doing in regards to keeping DA/ECNL and the ripple effect that has on the girls soccer landscape...FG

Now that NTH is not having ECNL next year, is there any word on what the 07 Girls top teams are doing next year?

To me it seems clear that the 07 girls top teams and the 06 and older second teams will be the tophat teams getting the shaft with not having ecnl at least for a few years until DPL is recognized and established

From what I have heard, at AFU next year their 2007 girls teams will be:
#1 - ECNL #2 - SCCL (Premier) #3 - Athena B/C (if a third team exists)

DPL is, for lack of a better term, an 'experimental' league in the SouthEast. There are only 4 clubs: 2 in south FL, one in SC and TH. It seems very thrown together and competition is very watered down. The clubs that adopted it in SCAL and Texas have not been well received. ECNL was a huge loss to TH, even though they refuse to admit it.
While there are lots of kids who will give up their entire lives (and their family's lives) for DA, the majority of kids want to play for their HS team, and have some sort of social life outside of soccer.

DPL is USYS, so it is a significant prestige drop from USSF or even top levels of US Club and arguably even behind USYS NL.
NTH had a great 17-18 year, unfortunately for whatever reason they couldn't keep it up for 18-19. I am curious if the advent of SCCL was part of this. Giving some families a smaller regional option instead of the larger regional ECNL conference. The general mid-low performance of their ECNL teams and obscenely high performance of their SCCL teams gives some credence to the argument. Too many options = talent dilution.

Another theory is that one bad coach wrecked 3 ECNL teams. Add in running each program in a silo with no crossover - e.g. refusing to bring up quality SCCL players to help ECNL teams that were struggling with injuries.
