Atlanta Falcons gave their 2019 schedule announcement the full Game of Thrones treatment - Atlanta Falcons GOT
Much like the launch of the finale season of the vaunted HBO show, Game of Thrones(GoT), it looks like the silly season is upon us. This is when we can expect loads of rumors, anxiety attacks, falsehoods, innuendos and outright full on craziness. Who will get retained/released at AU and who will be part of the new crop of chosen professional prospects? What will be the impact of losing DA at the U12 age group and the introduction of AU into the SCCL and Academy stratosphere? Speaking of SCCL, what is with the introduction of SCCL 2? Are rumors of over a dozen+ clubs from the southeast asking to join the SCCL true and if so, will that lead to an even more rapid growth of the SCCL? Still sticking with the SCCL, will the availability of girls at U13 to now be able to join ECNL and U14 girls to now be able to join DA make a difference on the girls side? Will TH finally and officially leave ECNL or are the rumors of them officially moving it to the NASA part of NTH marriage be true, so they can still have both as options? If not, what will happen to the current ECNL players at TH/NTH? How will that impact GDA tryouts at um oh yea UFA and ECNL tryouts at CF/CF/AFU/GSA? Will the shrinkage of DA teams at U15 from 7 clubs down to 3 make an impact on breaking AU's winning streak or will it be nothing other than more yawns? Let's not delve into the coaches, are they staying, leaving, switching clubs or switching from boys to girls only? You add all of this to the normal organized chaos of tryouts, State Cups, Showcases, Post Season tournaments | Truly reminds me all of the Game of Thrones. Who will come out on top and who will be on the outside looking in. In case we forget what it's about, remember it's about the kids. Are they safe, happy, learning and growing. As we begin the calls to find spots for our kids, remember to breathe. Good luck in tryouts to the players and the parents alike. I hope everyone lands on the team and groups of teammates and parents we wish for...FG
