Locked fields suck. When I lived near Tampa locks were the norm there as well.
Where I grew up in Ohio every HS field (and track, and bleachers) were open to the public on non event days. It blows my mind that county parks are locked around here. Now I live in Roswell - the local fields that RSC uses are public parks. Pickup games being played all the time (as long as leagues aren’t scheduled to be using them). I love that.

I would disagree that no one watches. That is certainly not true in Atlanta where AU is nearly at the top of the world in soccer attendance. They sure turned the Benz into half a house full, missing all the fair weather fans when they weren’t winning. If MLS gets the new TV deal they actually deserve…. #MLSOS I find it hilarious that MLS defenders clutch pearls about how much these owners have invested whenever somebody suggests opening the pyramid. It’s their personal hedge investment - primarily based on real estate mostly paid for by taxpayers. It’s been nearly thirty years and MLS is mostly still a gimmick. Like our dear host said.. USL level plus three higher quality players. An open pyramid would trigger investment and opportunity in every town - and MLS would still have a thousand yard head start (with all the money in the world apparently) but in reality... All they’re scared of is having to win. That’s why MLS blows. #thinkofthebillionaires and David Beckham.

For Cherundolo - 6W 3D 23L as manager of LV Lights* in USL seems like an odd spring board into the manager at job at LAFC. Regardless, I hope it bodes well for GA native Cal Jennings in 2022, having been one of very few bright lights in Vegas as he was loaned back and forth all last season (from LAFC).

first one was the best one - and the compilation is a reminder of how many games I missed due to not having Bally Sports network. Is it a MLS rule that teams cannot make their own local broadcast deals? MLS cancelled all local broadcast deals and bundled them with national deal in an attempt to make an MLS tv rights deal seem worth more than $90M/yr without USNTs. I don’t see how they’ll get a better TV deal when the last/current one did so poorly. But strange business deals happen all the time so I guess time will tell.

Point to the percentages of Covid deaths, worldwide, without any co-morbidities. You'd be hard pressed to do so. Additionally, obesity is the most common factor of all co-morbidities in covid deaths... so if you want to have mandates - why not mandate a national exercise program? That would help lower death rates more than the other mandates. Have you found that data anywhere? I agree about the obesity problem. …The rest of your rant got flushed.

Consistency is key. If they postpone games for one club and make another play - with an equal number of cases - that sounds like shenanigans.

There sure are a lot of people saying “*uck those fat people” now a days. Pretty ironic considering all the pearl clutching over non existent death panels “deciding to let grandma die” a few years ago.. We sure have become a selfish country.

Do yourself a favor and unfollow Feigl-Ding ASAP. I cannot emphasize this enough. His whole schtick on Twitter is to twist data into making things seem a million times worse than they are. His use of all-caps and emojis make him a popular follow on Twitter but he's an alarmist. I would fact-check anything you see from him on Twitter. I never heard of that guy. Who do you consider a reliable source?

He claimed the AU “passport story” was not true. The Costa Rica opportunity got sketchy fast when the manager got canned right after he got signed. The guy seems to have bad luck.
It seemed like he did well at Indy until he broke a wrist. Wonder if he had opportunity to go back and chose not to??
The moral of the story to me seems to be: go to Europe when they come calling - if you’re not 18 yet don’t turn down opportunity to go and train because some MLS team is ready to pay you sixty grand.

I don’t know FCC goalkeeper situation. Do you think this gives him a better shot at being a starter? It’d be a shame if he goes there just to train and sit behind somebody else like he did here. I’m honestly ready for a new starting GK here. In a salary cap league it’s foolish to spend big dollars on an old GK with poor distribution skills. Brad is good but not great enough to justify tying up a bunch of salary cap space. He was offered the starting position in Cincinnati, you can't blame him though. He would likely sit behind Guzan for another two years and he wants to play. Rios Novo is capable of being a #2 for a few years in Atlanta. Although their team has been dreadful he’s a good GK. Hope he does well.

I’m real curious to see if somebody picks up Roswell’s Cal Jennings from LAFC.

That’s a poor Jersey reveal in general - but what can be seen looks fine. Can’t wait to see the second jersey - oh that’s right it’ll be plain white with a lack of contrast for the lettering. I wonder what Ed Orgeron would think of the color. Orgeron, now that's a coach I would hire just for his post game interviews... Keep in mind his team subsequently lost to UCLA.. and then he got fired.

This is a great example of why FIFA requires tiers based on “sporting merit”.. teams should have to compete. It’s too bad our federation is mainly interested in maximizing the extraction of money from wiling suckers who are all told their league is best.
