Didn’t see it. 58% possession and two shots on goal. Ooof It was hard to watch. I don’t profess to be an expert strategist, but I do think ATL Utd would stand a better chance if they could get the ball into the attacking 1/3… That sounds like a bold approach.

Anyone care to give a “scouting report” on the game last night? Didn’t see it. 58% possession and two shots on goal. Ooof

Surprised the teams in league hasn’t started claims on other young players just to do it. If they do I hope it triggers lawsuits that lead to free agency for every athlete. Time to do away with the annual pro sports livestock sales that send athletes to teams they don’t really want to play for despite the implied privilege of “making it”.

Why does an AU scout need to attend and watch all AU and AU2 matches? Isn’t a scout supposed to find players OUTSIDE the current teams? Sometimes it's not just about finding the best player, but filling a need the team is lacking. You are best suited to know what the team needs if you actually watch them and see their deficiencies Reasonable answer. Thanks

I made some bad picks for the first games but doing better later in the week. Betting on a Group tournament is much different than a NCAA basketball (single elimination) tournament. Doing it [only] every four years (or five in this case) means I forget about strategy. In particular I kinda bought into the idea that FDB would fall on his face but his team looks pretty solid. When does him leaving a job prematurely become known as the FDB Outcome... www.goal.com/en/news/de-boer-steps-down-as-netherlands-head-coach-following/1iumirxp3vp3r12j9lp681ep8eAttaboy

Miggy was exciting in MLS. It’s sobering that he is average in EPL. Still fun to watch that ostrich.

Pretty sad what they’ve become. But in MLS you’re not out of contention for many more months so hopefully they figure some things out offensively. They did create some chances at the end but the dependence on crossing is too one dimensional. Guzan MOTM.
Barco fell down a lot, which is to be expected. Who is the scout that tricked AU into a record spend on that kid? He’s got ball skills but can’t seem to make good passing (or dribbling) decisions to save his life.
How many goals has Cubo Torres scored in AU uniform? His lack of productivity IMO is a great reason to get a look at Jackson Conway while Josef is still playing for Venezuela.

I dont think they need to prove themselves daily. Rather I think some on the forum need to give credit to non AU players who are as good but choose to not to pursue that pathway. I saw someone mention AU as a D1 pathway. There are plenty of non AU players who play D1 even as teammates with AU players. They definitely need to prove themselves daily with a revolving door of guest tryouts. When the pro team funds the academy it’s dog eat dog. No comfort by necessity. As it should be at the top. I don’t know where you are seeing people say players outside AU aren’t getting credit, or aren’t good or can’t make D1. Teams don’t earn scholarships - players do. Being in a high level environment improves visibility for sure but ballers don’t remain a secret. If D1 is your goal and within reach, don’t worry about words. Go get it.

It’s natural to be jealous of AU academy teams and players. They get the pick of the litter, from a talented pool - every team that faces them treats a scrimmage like a tournament final. AU academy players are forced to prove they belong. Every day. I think it’s a healthy jealousy.

Why is there so much negative energy surrounding anything to do with AU whether it is the academy or the AU 2 or the full team? George Bello has looked fine this season. He is a kid. He is starting for AU. It does not matter if he was only in the academy for 1-2 years. AU is new. Homegrown that are effective will take time. We should all be wishing the Academy well. AU won the league in year 2 of their existence. MLS is pitiful.…and I’m a soccer nut so I will still be at the game Sunday. Maybe I’m being unrealistic about GB. Shouldn’t expect him to be the second coming of Marcelo. But people are saying he should be on the national team and I’m not seeing that yet.

This whole organization seems lost. Other than Bello, they have gone out and bought their team. Bello really not developed by AU. I hope it gets better but I see this year being actually ending worse than last. Ugly! I love the George homegrown story but he hasn’t been very good this year. I was happy to see Jackson get some garbage minutes - hopefully he gets more chances since Cubo.. isn’t very good.

It’s a damn convenient fact that the massive money of college football.. Just like NFL football… is made possible by one thing… stopping every 3-4 minutes for a commercial. Stop the game for some Cheetos and Budweiser! NBA. MLB. Not far behind for the same reasons. For all of us soccer lovers… it is what it is. Premier league is finding a way to make it work with huge advertising deals and tv contracts. The difference is having the best players in the world. Tough to get people to spend money on an inferior product. Amen.

I’m trying to read through all this cryptic language - is some jughead on here referring to the COVID-19 vaccine as the “experimental shot” which caused myocarditis leading to cardiac arrest? I think that may have been the contention - until it was clarified that Ericksen never actually received the COVID-19 vaccine. …Which seems to make it harder to blame the vaccine. Except on CessBook.

Thank god he is back and stable. I read a report claiming he had an experimental shot, not sure exactly what for and what that means. Hopefully details of why this happened will evolve and be released. The reported experimental shot was earlier in the week prior to the in-game episode. My guess is, as soon as that was disclosed, many went into damage control mode and we may never know the full truth. Always a good idea to have an experimental shot before you have a heart attack. Mmmhmmmmm.

I wouldn’t do well enough to eat being a professional sports gambler… Definitely the group of death… and I’d definitely starve too as a gambler.

One more thing. F the social media cess pool that doesn’t joyfully terminate accounts whom repeatedly spew crap like this. It’s not that hard to identify and contract trace this garbage when the entire network is designed for… contact tracing. Man, you’ve been contemplating this for a minute 🤣. Agree with the sentiment, though. before and after work - guilty pleasure, this crap.

I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest there is no “experimental shot” being carried by medics and team doctors. Very likely the man’s heart stopped and they shocked it back into rhythm with an AED and/or gave a shot of Epinephrine. Something something dangerous tinfoil hat. And this is interesting, Inter Milan staff saying Eriksen hasn’t been vaccinated for C19 at all: www.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSL2N2NW1BX

Reports are coming out that the Butcher of Madrid - Captain Sergio Ramos may be leaving Santiago Bernabéu. 16 years, 22 titles and 671 appearances later. Real Madrid is still working feverishly to keep him. Developing story, more details to come... Last stop Inter Miami???

Sheesh, a 5'11"man-child sounds terrifying at this age!!! I certainly hope you're joking... teams are not misrepresenting player ages, like they used to do with Cuban/Dominican baseball players, are they??!! But that does lead to another question... at what age DO you see the biggest size/weight difference between same-age players? I don't remember this being an issue when I was a kid, but that was 1000 years ago, LOL! When do the men-children show up?? U14? U15? U16? U12, U13 you definitely see it with boys. Some of them anyway. More in the higher level teams. And here’s a tip from somebody who has been there. When they start to play with full size goals, a short goalkeeper is a killer.

I don’t need to see Jozy anymore. Time for a new generation. Not sold on Sargent at all yet but time will tell on him. We’ve got a good generation here - they need to continue competing against opponents that are better than Concacaf.
