No Demps or Bradley for US against Jamaica and Panama espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1575063/clint-dempsey-not-us-roster-world-cup-qualifiers?cc=5901"Once you achieve the goal of qualifying, you understand that the next higher level is already waiting for us. The World Cup is a couple of levels higher up than World Cup qualifying," Klinsmann said. "Players understand this is serious business. We want to see an improvement of the entire squad, and we want to see competition in every spot. You only have to say one word: Brazil. Then you automatically get fired up."

This doesn't bother me very much...We are qualified and it will be good to give some of the other guys some looks...I really would like to get a good look at Aron Johannsson. He has been played very limited.

Haven't heard a thing about Dempsey since his move. Has he played?

Yes, I agree with TheMadOx, it is a good opportunity to test other players. This scenario is one that every manager dreams of, I would imagine. You qualify early, and you can take the time to rest key players, test some new players; plus you don't have to go through the wrangling of country versus club play - even though these are international matches sanctioned by FIFA. Also, when you are crossing players over the Atlantic, with the timezone shifts, etc, all this can have an effect on the players.

Dempsey has played and looked good I thought. Had himself in dangerous positions, but has yet to score. Looked qualitatively different from the guys he was going against. That being said, I have never been enthralled with his work rate. Bradley is a greater loss for USMNT at this point.
