Wow, seems busier than ever this year especially on the girls side. The rising 14 girls is like a game of musical chairs. UFA girls leaving for tophat and concorde. tophat girls leaving for concorde concorde girls leaving for tophat nasa girls leaving for concorde
I've heard stories from some parents getting calls "what do you need to come over..." This seems worse than college recruiting signing day. Insane.
I can't throw stones though, because I switched clubs years ago but we weren't offered anything, we were like the baltimore colts and packed up in the middle of the night! So I might even be greater scum!!

I have spoken to parents that went to the tryouts and was told that the team has already been picked prior to tryouts. It will be interesting to see how long the parents and kids stick around for this, how many kids can they roster?

We all (at least those of us with girls in this age group) know who is trying to pull the strings over there and that it will likely crash and burn soon enough.

Let's face it, there are only 4 attacking center midfield spots on ECNL teams available (3 really as GSA players aren't going anywhere). Some are going to be playing out of position or riding the bench. I guess some parents aren't math wizards.

Concorde Fire dad has told all ECNL teams to run formations with 2 attacking mids and a false 9 (that can be another attacking mid). Now there are 12 spots across the 4 teams! Dude is a genius.

Am I not aggressive enough if I just want my girl to have fun playing with girls she has fun with?? She would like to move up to premier, and may but she also realizes that 9th grade high school work comes first next year, and the added tournaments may interfere.

I would say that both of my kids are real students of the game. They don't care about wins and losses all that much as long as they have a coach that works hard to make sure they further their education of soccer. Both of them have expressed frustrations to me from time to time and it's always regarding becoming stagnant and not developing as a player and never about the results. Having said that, I could care less where they play as long as they achieve those goals. Plenty of parents will take their kid from club to club looking for that perfect team or club to get them noticed but it doesn't really matter. If your kid is good enough, they can play pretty much anywhere in metro Atlanta and they will get noticed.
