Well lets hope the girls come out to play some inspired ball tonight. I expect 2 goals off set pieces, and at least one goal from a keeper error.
I'm going with 4-0 USA. We win the group and regroup for the knockout stages.
i'm going with morgan press
heath holiday lloyd rapinoe Klingenberg johnston sauberbrunn kreiger

Nigeria 4-1 USA
I won't be happy, but I think they're coming home tomorrow.
[Edit.. I don't know if they can still advance with a loss but I still think they will lose]

A W is a W, but not impressed at all! Nigeria appeared to possess the ball better and even up a man we couldn't keep the ball.

At the end of the day, it's survive and advance. Would you rather be in sweden”s position? I haven't seen a really dominant team yet in this World Cup. It's really opened up.

Also not impressed. My daughters new coach at team meeting advised girls to look at other teams at WW. Not USA. No control, no play making.

So much lacking in the US attack, leaves me very underwhelmed. Not to mention it taking half a dozen corners to finish one. BUT, if anything, this world cup has highlighted Johnston and Sauerbrunn. What a pair of CB's they are! Rampone has been a staple there for so long, it was hard to imagine anyone being able to step in and fill her role. Nigeria should have never been able to play through the CB's that easily (i.e. the heavy recovery 1v1 play by Johnston)...very telling of the US midfielders. Lets hope getting out of the group on top lights a fire for next week.

Very little offensive touches and seemed like she never even was in the "camera" frame. Not sure whats happened to both of them, I get it somedays you just don't have it, but its becoming a trend of late....... no question Johnston is a beast. Alex doesn't look healthy, she played tentative and looked like she had cement feet. Heath is the most technical player on the team and I did not think she was good. The studio/announcers were raving about her play though. She held the ball too long, and nothing is simple. nothing. She was getting torched on her side of the pitch, and clearly doesn't have any speed or physicality to knock someone of the ball. I was stunned as well (not really stunned, but you get it), leroux had a handful of one v ones, and and we didn't see an ounce of skill, she has one move and one move only, let me play the ball around you and chase it. very disappointing. Kreiger to me is also 50/50, she does some good things then how many times did she just give the ball away last night. Her distrubtion has a lot to be disered, has to improve. Unfortunately, no switch will be flipped, this team won't wake up and start playing a different brand of soccer. This is who they are. The best players in the land playing the ugliest soccer in the cup. We will all root like crazy for the red/white and blue regardless. I just don't have a lot of confidence in this team making a run possibly through france, germany and then a final game.
