I'm not nearly as savy with the DA as others, but its always a shame when you see this happen. I honestly have no idea about how they played or performed, but for it not to be about "results" the article seems to focus on results! www.wisconsinsoccercentral.com/news_article/show/532325?referral=rss&referrer_id=811630"U.S. Soccer has made the determination that, at this time, the Wisconsin soccer market as a whole is not large enough to consistently support teams at the Development Academy level – especially as the program expands to younger age groups and more teams," Shepherd wrote. "The requirements to participate in the Development Academy are very high, and it requires a very large, talented pool of players capable of meeting this standard, and at multiple ages. Based on our discussions, we understand that as a state, Wisconsin will not have a DA program any time in the near future." "We are very proud of the teams and players that the club has had in the DA the past several years," Shepherd wrote. "Milwaukee was the smallest market in the DA in the country, and despite this challenge our teams performed well, with many of the players each year successfully moving on to collegiate soccer."

This happened in Georgia a while back which then spurred the creation of the Georgia United Alliance. There were two clubs that had DA in Georgia, Concorde and Lightning. Lightning lost it and Georgia only had one DA team for perhaps a year. Then the Georgia United Alliance was created.
It is about results and it should be about results. Perhaps not pure winning and losing but fielding competitive teams. Perhaps the US folks felt there was not a large enough talent pool to support the necessary skill level. Perhaps it was a failure of the coaches.
There are many ways for good socer players to rise to the top. DA is a helpful tool, but not the end all, be all
I am sure the folks up in Wisconsin will figure something out.

Pretty sure GA had 3 DA teams at the beginning. AFU lost it and to keep a 2 nd AFC and the others formed Georgia United. It will be interesting when MLS starts theirs.
