From what I've pieced together is that Gwinnett Parks and Rec pulled a shady election to kick them out of Bryson Park. A lot of it had to do with Bryson Soccer wanting to not give up their name and for to KSA to become part of them. But KSA wanted to keep their fees and their books secret. Pretty much Bryson parents wanted to know why they were paying more then KSA players and KSA refused to open their books to Bryson Soccer. It's a big shït Storm at the moment because I think KSA "won" an election of quite a few of their members to the Bryson board but Gwinnett P&R invalidated it.

Can anyone name another soccer club in America where the club is named after the founder? Or even named after a person: I don't see one in Georgia: www.georgiasoccer.org/club_directory/I think their road would be so much easier if they just changed the name. That might remove the perceived arrogance and jealousy they seem to be fighting.

A friend forwarded me the hearing (not sure when it actually was), it was very interesting to watch. I can't find the link though!

Things aren't always as they appear to be. That's all I'm going to say about this topic.

Things aren't always as they appear to be. That's all I'm going to say about this topic. Exactly! Just wish as a Gwinnett resident something would be made public. There's lot of tax dollars going into Bryson Park and I believe Bryson Soccer as a true Parks & Rec is the best fit for a county facility.

Aren't all parks county facilities and are being rented out by clubs? why cant 2 clubs rent the same fields? Fowler is rented out by UFA and YMCA No the "home" club doesn't rent anything. Bryson soccer gets to use the fields for free because they're affliated through Gwinnett P&R. All the clubs that are associated through Gwinnett P&R have to pay is for the light bills. Same for GFC at Bethesda, Dacula at rabbit hill, norcross at pinckneyville, and so on. Same goes for the baseball and football leagues in Gwinnett too.

There's not enough field space, they didnt rent the fields, they tried to become part of Bryson soccer so they could get around that and then when the Bryson parents started asking why their fees are higher then KSA and KSA wouldn't open up their financials that's when this all blew up. Again this is all that I've heard from Bryson parents, a few former KSA parents and my sister who is a board member for another Gwinnett club that answers to Gwinnett P&R too. So not sure if any is actually true but definitely worth discussing.

Oh boy - I'm glad I'm not involved in all that drama. I feel bad for the kids at KSA since it sounds like there's some uncertainty in their future. I feel bad too for Bryson. I suspect they're not the most sophisticated of soccer clubs given the short time they've been around.
I watched the video. To call out Bryson, Gwinnett County, Georgia Soccer, GSA and Dacula (how they heck did Dacula get included in the conversation?) and to portray themselves as victims doesn't quite add up for me. The phrase "you reap what you sow" comes to my mind.

Agree with ya fanSo what does this mean for current KSA players. I know a handful of kids that left our club this year for KSA?

They are practicing at a nearby park while all of this gets settled is what i have heard. I cant help but think that if it was any other club but ksa this wouldn't be happening?

KSA has moved to Wade Walker and from a coach who took his boys team there they've taken over SMYSA. Which sounds like SMYSA asked them to because they just didn't have anyone willing to do the job anymore.
Yeah it's definitely getting ugly, but then again it was cutthroat at last years AGM when KSA left GSA and was trying to get affiliation right away without the two year waiting period.

Not true, there are quite a few clubs that get denied GSSA affiliation the first year. To make this out like GA Soccer "is out to get them" is what created some of the problems they had last year. Some of the things mentioned at the Gwinnett Board Meeting the other night are factually incorrect. Many of these problems are from the KSA leadership that they created themselves, as I said before people aren't always the way they portray themselves to be. I'll leave it at that.

Is there a danger of them losing they affiliation? What would happen to the current players and teams? Some of our former teammates play at KSA now

No affiliation. Just curious. I also know some people who know people with KSA and the members speak very highly of the club, so this is all pretty weird.
None more than this.. KSA fees being LOWER than Bryson Park (a county rec dept) triggered the big kerfuffle.
Seems there are many layers to the onion.

As a Dekalb County taxpayer, I am very leery of KSA, founded in Gwinnett by a Gwinnett resident who broke away from GSA, getting access to Dekalb County fields. I would be very, very surprised if this happens. And if it does, there will be some upset people in Dekalb, I guarantee it.

I think (don't know for certain) that DeKalb Co. wanted soccer in Wade Walker, and SMYSA was on the way out, so it works for both sides. I'm pretty sure there are other clubs that use Wade Walker as well. Doesn't DDSC have a few teams there?
Space is really tight at Bryson. KSA added a girls side, and at least one boy's side, probably more. The turf field is really nice to have access to, but it is basically out of reach during football season. The Harmony Grove park KSA is using now has what looks like an entire league in it during the season, and the grass is like dust by December.
Without a doubt, the two sides don't work well together. I don't know what Bryson Park soccer charges, but if they're paying only for light bills, it shouldn't cost as much as KSA, which had 150/mo. on their financial disclosure forms That is neither high nor low in my mind. Same as GSA.
