But the usual train wreck reality tv would be much more fun to watch lol St. Petersburg / Clearwater, FL – A new reality show is headed to the Greater St. Petersburg Clearwater area. Soccer Moms is currently holding an open casting call for 30 real, local Soccer Moms for this new TV series. The show will focus on the challenges of being a soccer mom and now training to be a soccer player. The series will show the role reversal and dynamic of the kids and families supporting Mom as she lives out her soccer playing dream. The season will culminate with two teams of 15 Moms playing in a match against each other. The winning team will receive a substantial sum of cash to donate to the charity of their choice. The show will focus on a positive message and not be typical train wreck reality TV. The show will be aired locally and is in active negotiations for national and international distribution. The series will shoot in Greater St. Petersburg Clearwater for six weeks from October 17th to December 4th, excluding the week of thanksgiving. Any Moms interested in submitting for the project should send an email to soccermomstampa@gmail.com. You must include your name, a brief statement about your self, a couple of snapshots and why you want to be on the show. The casting company will email back with further instructions. All talent needs to be available for the entire shoot dates and able to work at filming locations throughout the Tampa bay area.

I can think of a couple of teams for which this would have been great to watch - but in a train wreck kind of way...

Darn - I should have gotten the name of the psycho woman from that Tampa team we played a while back. Most passive aggressive parent I've ever seen - purposely planted herself in the middle of our parents and openly criticized our players by number while standing there. When asked to please go back to her own team, she invoked her first amendment rights then called over her obese husband to stand in front of us blocking the view of - oh the entire planet. And the excuses when our team beat them were priceless - 'hometown referees (it was an out of state tournament for us); offside calls missed (nope), the sun was in their eyes (noon game - it was overhead, lady). She'd be a great cast for that show - I hope she tries out. I'd recognize her anywhere - especially once I heard that voice again. LOL
