Hello from NC. Finding it hard to believe that R3 is not canceling the 70 or so games this weekend in Atlanta. Big event with teams from all over southeast. Will be a fiasco if we all spend the money to get there and the games are canceled. Any locals have some insight?

As of right now we haven't heard anything here. It has rained almost every day here and I'm pretty sure that it has been the same in Mt. Carmel and they dont have turf fields. Im thinking they will announce it this morning unless they're looking into an alternate location?

Yea, we are playing 2 teams from Florida, one from South Florida, you have to assume, they will be leaving for Atlanta shortly..... Some might even be flying. Its not supposed to stop raining. Was any notice sent out, ie "we will make a decision by XXX time?"

Email from Commish:
Due to the weather on the East Coast for driving conditions and field conditions, no games will be played in Hampton, GA this weekend. I have attached this email to your Saturday game as it is the quickest way to get an email out-but both days are called off (10/3 & 10/4). We will begin working on the reschedules right away. Thanks for your understanding and stay safe! Charlie

I would not want to be in Mr. Slagle's shoes right now. It's unfortunate but there it is.
Some teams have completed their regular season. Other teams have not yet got in even one game.

I think they brought this on themselves somewhat by making the whole thing an event-style competition. I understand doing it over Labor Day bringing all the teams together for 3 games. Then they should have set up home and away games for each team for the remaining games similar to ECNL. Let the home teams figure out a turf option if it rains. Then you get your games in.

It doesnt work for RPL, they bring their own refs. If you have everyone all over the place it becomes a mess, I like having one weekend where we play 2 games and everything is centralized.

At this rate, we will have a spring RPL season after all...
