A FOOTBALLER has been jailed for a year after shattering an opponent’s leg in two places with a revenge tackle. Ex-pro Nathaniel Kerr made the vicious two-footed lunge at Stuart Parsons after being riled by another rival’s foul on a team-mate. He landed on his opponent “like a long jumper” and stamped on his right leg – then yelled at him to get up as he lay in agony with the break clearly visible through his sock. Dad-of-two Mr Parsons said the tackle “ruined my life”. He cannot play sport 14 months on and his window cleaning business has folded because he cannot climb a ladder. The match referee said he had “never seen such aggression on a football pitch” and a court heard that Kerr, 27, only showed remorse after the severity of the injury became clear. He was sent off and the first match of the season between the pub teams in the Stockport Sunday league last year was abandoned after only two minutes as an air ambulance took Mr Parsons, 30, to hospital. Dad-of-one Kerr, who was a pro with Rotherham United, admitted grievous bodily harm at Minshull Street crown court, Manchester. Mr Parsons yesterday said he was “pleased” by the sentence. Since the assault Kerr has played for Northern Premier League side Droylsden and been sent off once. The Football Association yesterday said he is likely to face a hearing for “violent conduct”. I have never seen such aggression before on a football pitch REFEREE AFTER KERR’S ASSAULT ON MR PARSONS www.pressreader.com/uk/daily-mirror/20151002/281762743072302/TextView

Sounds just like one that ruined Steve Zakuani's career. Interesting enough....I heard the something similar happened last weekend to a U14 KSA player. A kid from the other team kicked him and broke his ankle in two places and he had to have surgery on Sunday. I'm not sure but I don't even think the other kid got carded

It was the RPL game, I don't believe that the yellow/red cards are tracked publicly there. I saw the xray of the ankle on Instagram that someone showed me
