Not much to report from Actual Parent. We played at Ambush on Saturday, but not any psycho antics. To my chagrin, I did have a single outburst (I do not give excuses), but nothing great, but no fights, no storming the field, etc. I did mouth off at the referee one time. Other parents from my club were more mouthy, but within norms of typical parent whining.
I am policed by the award I invented. What better indication of success.
Anyway, from my perspective, the Ambush parents were normal, experienced soccer parents. The GSA parents whined more at the ref. We had no crosstalk between teams (yay), no parents doing anything ridiculous, no parents on either team bizatching at players from the other team (which is the lowest parent behavior possible, except physical contact with a ref or a kid from another team). There was plenty of parent bizatching at the ref for no calls, which were common, and equally distributed. The ref earned any bizatching about his numerous no-calls (again, going both ways).
Please, provide better information. I don't want to win my own award for one "do you need help with your whistle" wisecrack to the ref. I have done far worse myself....
So please help, with tales of parent foolishness.

Wasn't there but I heard a parent at a RSC SSA U19 B game mouthed off to a red carded player. Anyone have details on that? Yesterday at Grimes Bridge? That's pretty low and may spare you from winning your own Award

We hosted Roswell at home this week. Pretty calm other than a few complaints here and there about no-calls but nothing that was loud enough for the ref to hear. My other kid played down in Warner Robins against CGSA and from what I understand it was a much more lively sideline and game. We had one girl helped off the field and several kids sent flying and tumbling. Very rough game. My daughter came out of it very sore but to her credit she gave as good as she got as she was so all over one of the players that the opposing coach actually moved the player to another position. <insert Proud Parent moment music here> Stay tuned as our team sidelines is close to bubbling over so we could win the award at any time. LOL

That's pretty low and may spare you from winning your own Award I was on an adjacent field and heard the fight start, then turned to see it. It all happened very close to the touch line. Not sure which side was represented by this guy in question (a hispanic guy) - but I think he was mouthing of to the ejected Roswell player as he walked out the gate. The classy spectator wasn't very old, probably a friend/sibling of the player rather than a parent. Also... evidenty a spectator was on the field soon after the fight began - I didn't see him/her. I think this is the case because a spectator up above the retaining wall on the West (opposite) side of the field was yelling across demanding the ref "get the parents off the field". I don't think the ref bothered. It wasn't a real proud moment for either team. They've probably played one another for many years...

On the other forum there is an excellent psycho thread - a RYSA parent and the RYSA Coached chased a 13 year old ref off the field, followed the ref into the parking lot yelling insults until the kid was in tears. Like to get more details, but here's the most complete account:

Re: Referee was literally crying after a u11 game between AFC and RYSA !!wtfNo score for this post October 27 2013, 8:09 PM
Hear RYSA parent went after 13/14 year old ref crew in parking lot and would not let it go. Ref had a bad game but parent went after them and kid ended up in tears. Hope that they go after this A hole and report him for ref abuse. Other refs and assignor had to intervene and deal with it.

It is late in the week for the award, but this one may be the best so far.

Is it true? Any eyewitness to the RYSA incident here?

It seems the Grimes Bridge altercation was sketchy, and may not have been an actual parent. Thanks to our poster for getting this information to us. It is valuable to put that information out in a public forum
Although I think my own method is suspect (going to old forum), I believe light can shine through any window, so the award has to go to some total d***head RYSA dad for not only berating a 13-year old ref to the point of leaving the field, but to chase down that ref and continue in the parking lot to the point that the other refs and the field assignor had to intervene to protect a 13 year old ref from an adult.
That would have been great coming from this forum, but I don't care. Attacking a child is news, well outside what this award was originally intended for. If that was my child, I'd do well to stay out of prison, and if I behaved properly, would have pressed charges for assault of a minor, assault, and anything else I could.
I will post the award thread for the RYSA d***head.
