something will happen. there has been discussion for sure. SSA wants DA, and right now the only way thats happening is by joining with GUA or concorde. and Concorde needs $$$$ (might not need, but want....), from what i gather, once GUA went fully funded, money has been a little tighter to match and fully fund their concorde players
GB is difficult and from what i hear won't play NSA in u9-u12 academy because he's so bitter towards TA. trust me, TA is not the problem here!

I wonder, for adults on a registration-required forum, do we need to use initials? I think we're mostly going to be respectful here, so I don't think names would be an issue. I think I know who TA is, but not GB.

I don't subscribe to conspiracy theories but Concorde held off a year on their uniform cycle. They said it was to sync up with Nike's new design release and that may well be the case.
Also, I spoke with a SSA North parent last Spring who spoke as if there had been some conversations around some form of alliance with Concorde. Again no idea, whether it would have been a merger or just some type of GUSA style partnership.
(Good start on the new board by the way)

I asked a SSA exec board member about these merger rumors. Of course, I didn't get a straight answer but I was told that rumors are not reliable and that SSA has been approached by many clubs by local and out of state clubs wanting to discuss mergers. From that, I would tend to believe what soccerdude10 said that "there have been discussions" but nothing beyond that.

Really old thread (sorry to bump) but I guess this merger has died out? Spring seems to be the optimal time for clubs to merge from what I've seen.

The merger died and there has been a bit of upheaval at SSA. Not sure if one caused the other.

I heard CF's books were in the red and that the former SSA Directors wanted to walk away.
