I'm interested in learning which Clubs out there have been communication about the Age Mandate Have you heard from your club? If yes, what have they said?
Has your Club or coach arranged for a specific age group to do couple of practices together? If yes, has it been restricted to your clubs top teams ? ie current younger U14's top team with current older U13's top team or has it been all of your clubs 2002 players?
I've heard that a couple of clubs are beginning to communicate with parents and have started these combined practices but I'm interested in learning more.

CF Central. Daughter is a 03 that plays on one of the u12 teams in u13 Athena A. Coach has told us that the team will be split up and that the same rules that have always existed will prevail with regard to playing up. If an 04 tries out and the coach wants her, then she is in. No specific eye is being kept on keeping teams together for continuity and, as of yet, we have heard nothing about getting the 03's that are currently on the u12 and 13 squads together.

Dacula. Daughter is an 02. We did the SSA tourny with just the 02's. It worked out well in the second bracket since it was a new team. The coaches from both teams were there. They have started an extra session by age groups on Fridays. No additional cost. But, between club and JV HS, Friday is our only off day. So have not attended yet. Has not been communicated as to which coach will coach the 02's or 01's.

UFA - we had a club meeting to answer questions. Also we are doing calendar year combines for every age group across the board in the next couple of weeks to see how everything falls.

To the Concorde parent with the 03 playing Athena A, what would you say the 03/04 breakdown is as those are 2 quality teams?

AFU - having 4 Monday age-group practices in March and April. Coaches for the higher lever teams (ECNL, RPL) are pretty much set - at least on the girls side.

To the Concorde parent with the 03 playing Athena A, what would you say the 03/04 breakdown is as those are 2 quality teams? Not sure which two teams you meant. The two U12 teams (North and Central ) playing in Athena A or the two Central teams (U12 and U13) Actually they are all good squads....and, with the 03's being eligible for ECNL, it should be really interesting come May as this will see the merger of all the 03's from the 4 teams, as well as other top players looking to jump clubs. Our team is about 65/35 in favor of the 03's but some of our strongest offensive players are 04's. Not really sure how the other CF teams in u12 or 13 breakdown. I know several of the girls from the two North teams are 03's as we met them at ODP. Again..May should prove very interesting at this age group..especially if you are factions in ECNL, which teams get RPL slots once the mandate takes hold... My daughter keeps asking who she is going to play with and I told her we have no earthly idea...go to tryouts..do your best and we shall see.

Wasn't there discussion about potentially having u13 ECNL teams? The uncertainty is tough especially for a group of kids that have been together since they were 7.
edit ---
ECNL should stand up to the man, and not switch to new age mandate.

Chiefs are letting the players decide. A majority of the current U15 and up teams want to stick together, but a few players may roster down to take advantage of playing with two teams through club passing. Current 13/14s a few teams have decided to stick together so they'll play up with the older players. Academy players will go straight to calendar year. We actually had them practice all calendar year last week and had inhouse games last weekend with those teams. We have at least two more weeks like that this spring season too. The club has had multiple parents meetings already in person and virtual as well. We've kinda been shocked that a lot of clubs are breaking teams up without even letting the players have a say. I mean aren't we all out there for the kids first?

I think Shapo said it best. Just go to tryouts. For my kid, he will go to tryouts for his age group. If the club is considering for him to play up, then I do think the kid should decide. All things being equal, I'd rather him play at this age. With tryouts, you never know who will show up as new to the club. If you are in a big club with high level teams, there will be some great additions ... so all this talk seems to be premature.
